Process Posted May 1 Posted May 1 (edited) This is interesting given the Bills submitted bids hoping to host it in 2028 or 2029. Do you think it ever comes to Buffalo? If so where would it go? (Not sure if they included a specific site in their bids to host it?) I'm guessing it would go near the stadium, but logistically it seems like a nightmare and/or impossible...traffic, parking, no hotels etc Edited May 1 by Process Quote
gonzo1105 Posted May 1 Posted May 1 I do think it’s going to Buffalo one of those two years. The Bills built a new stadium, they’ll want to reward the Bills and it won’t be with a SB so this is the next best thing 5 2 Quote
Desert Bills Fan Posted May 1 Posted May 1 I think that Buffalo building the new stadium out in the suburbs again, makes a great college game, tailgating atmosphere. But they lost the opportunities for things like the NFL draft or hosting a Super Bowl when they didn’t go for a downtown dome within walking distance of the convention center, hotels, restaurants, bars, etc. 3 10 Quote
GunnerBill Posted May 1 Posted May 1 Minnesota is getting 2028. Hoping we still have a shot at 2029. I'm 100% coming if we do. Screw Rich Eisen we are having a live episode of the Gunner & @gonzo1105 podcast right outside the stadium 3 1 2 5 Quote

It's about hotel rooms and infrastructure. Two of the largest corporations in the world are headquartered in Cincinnati (P&G and Kroger). There is also Cintas and Chiquita, as well as 5/3 Bank and a few national insurance companies. That means that even though it's a small(ish) city, there are a lot of high-end hotel rooms downtown. There are also a TON of lower-priced hotels and motels on both sides of the river, because it is a common stop-off point for people on I75 going between Florida and Canada. The airport is also much bigger. In WNY, OTOH, it's hard to get a room for a Bills home game unless you book it months in advance. 3 4 1 Quote

I think if it’s held in Buffalo it won’t be at the stadium it will be downtown on canal side/outer harbor. Problem is late April might still be cold asf near the water. I’ll agree that hotels will be an issue. We have plenty downtown but not sure for a 100K plus coming to town 1 2 Quote
H2o Posted May 1 Posted May 1 Cincinnati? Really? Great place. Awesome crime rate. Great infrastructure. I know, let's send the Chief Kindness Officer out to pave the way and then have the draft there. Quote
Augie Posted May 1 Posted May 1 I must say, some of these, like Nashville, look great and I’d love to see that, but Pittsburgh looked miserable to me. Just a giant mass of people crammed into not enough space on some downtown streets or parking lots. I’d need something more than standing there waiting to hear some strangers name called out. I’d rather be in the war room than go to another Super Bowl, but I’d also prefer sitting at a bar watching the draft on TV than stand in the mosh pit for hours on end. Heck, I’d rather go to the movies than stand in that crowd. 1 2 1 Quote
yall Posted May 1 Posted May 1 No hotels or other attractions near the stadium. You gonna have people pitching tents at Hammer's? 1 1 1 Quote
blitzboy54 Posted May 1 Posted May 1 (edited) There are simply not enough hotel rooms to host 300k people. The reason Hotel rooms are more expensive in downtown Buffalo than Manhattan is because there are so few of them. It's always going to be a limiting factor. Edited May 1 by blitzboy54 Quote

If I were to go I’d have to pay VIP because you’re not catching me a half mile away from the stage with a 15 dollar hot dog standing. I’d probably fork over the big bucks to be VIP in Buffalo though Quote

While I agree Nashville would probably be cool, most of the time the draft feels like the sports equivalent to standing outside Times Square on New Year's Eve. No thanks 5 Quote
