No_Matter_What Posted May 1 Posted May 1 (edited) I was surprised that Beane said he had asked scouts who they liked before Day 3. Sound strange to me. I'd expect them to have all these conversations before the draft and create firm big board after those. And then just stick with it. Edited May 1 by No_Matter_What Quote

Maybe tell him the draft war room is in Florida next year. Apropos of nothing, I had subtitles on when I watched - and when Bell addressed Pegula the subtitle said "Mr. Goop" 😄 Quote

I've seen this before with GMs being called "coach" by players. It may be like how in the restaurant biz like in "The Bear" even front of house people and servers are referred to as "chef" even if they have nothing to do with cooking food. 1 1 Quote

I want them to be happy and excited but focused. Focused on what? Making sure they feel the right emotions and reacting the way folks on a message board think they should? Josh was almost inconsolable after the Denver game. Should he have been more focused on being stoic so the team can rally behind him next year? 1 1 Quote

If that was true he wouldn't have blown up at those guys from WGR. He also wouldn't be constantly leaking stories about how the Bills almost got this or that guy. 1 Quote

Had he kept his emotions in check, maybe he wouldn't try to have forced the play before the half against Denver and maybe he wouldn't have made 5 turnovers. 1 1 1 Quote

I don't believe it was Kim. There was a woman wearing glasses with long, dark hair. It wasn't Kim. It was likely a staffer. Quote

I know he owns the team, but please don't let Terry call the new guys. The less talk Terry does the better. Maybe tell him the draft war room is in Florida next year. 2. I really liked the way IGB presents himself. Seems like a good kid. 3. Beane thinks a lot of the day 2 picks will get a jersey on Sundays. Would be really nice. 4. This is NOT a swipe at McDermott. But Joe Brady comes across as authentic. I think he will relate much better to the younger guys than Sean did. He's still young enough to relate. 5. Like his actual players picked or not, Brandon Beane does a magnificent job reading the board moving up and down and getting players they want. He does a great job stacking picks in rounds that have some gems. 6. Am I alone thinking that Kilgore may end up the best pick of this draft? 6. Another thought about Joe Brady. It was interesting to see and hear his positive reaction to the early defensive players selected. His view of getting defense is what helps the offense is refreshing. Viewing defense as a tool to get the ball back for the offense seems like it should be common sense, but it's not in many cases. 7. I find it funny that every time Beane is shown making a trade, he always tells the other GM to "go ahead and call it in". Both in trades they propose and ones that are proposed to them. It's a pretty good power move IMO. Like hey dude, you work for me. For your # 6, I am hoping it is an ongoing debate starting two or three years from now who was the better steal of this draft Kilgore or Bell. 1 Quote

He strikes me as a guy that has some production...but I see good, not great. Would love it if he was. With Kilgore I see a guy that could be amazing. Quote

Hopefully this draft class is a good one. 9 minutes ago, BuffaloBillyG said: I think Bell is going to be decent. He strikes me as a guy that has some production...but I see good, not great. Which is a great find later in round 4 just like Shakir was a great find early in round 5. Kilgore to me is a fantastic chance to take later in round 5. Quote

Yeah I noticed that in prior Brady-player interactions that his approach-language-demeanor is more youthful and likley relatable than McD...both are uber smart and energetic...friend of mine went to HS with McD and calls him the most intense person he has ever met...being cerebral and intense can turn some off, esp younger less mature players...seems to be an underrated improvement that the media may not have publicized as of yet or ever. I mention they’ve obviously been giving input and helping build the board. I don’t think it’s strange at all. Considering the picks we started with are not the way we ended, and you have no idea what positions you’ve invested in, or players that are still there. He also said it was a focus on the 1 player per round IIRC that they had the most conviction for. So it wasn’t like a full assessment, just their strongest option on a player who is left. Seems like a very wise strategy to check in with the scouts and hear from the people who crunched the film, met with prospects and have tracked these guys for months if not years. 2 1 Quote

Kilgore to me is a fantastic chance to take later in round 5. Bell is closer to Diggs than he is to Shakir in my opinion. Diggs was seen as a little more explosive in college but he wasn't more productive or faster or more sure-handed...both were fed ample screens and designed touches while defenses dedicated extra attention each week...and Bell scored a higher RAS than both Diggs and Shakir. And had insane productivity while being his team's obvious #1 WR. So with Bell, Shakir, and Moore, hopefully the Bills have at least 3 dudes who can all GET OPEN and haul in catches for their QB while being used interchangeably. Moore's RAS is nearly identical to Bell's (ELITE), except that he's 20 lbs more "sturdy" than the rookie. Keon Coleman, minus the straight-line track times, is also in the same RAS class as the rest. Palmer is just a tick or two behind the rest of the gang. And that's then five dudes who should all be able to make a play when called upon. 1 Quote
