Carmichaels schemes ( which its all the same Peyton, Carmichael and Brady) hasnt relied on blocking from WR's as much as Brady had to under McDermott. I feel McDermott's insistence on primary blocking,is what led to Diggs issues and departure. And like you my friend, just 2 cents 😁 Diggs role didn't change until Brady took over. He was on pace for nearly 1400 yards with Dorsey before Brady took over and we made running the ball a focal point of the offense. Sorry bud, not trying to rain on the parade, but WR blocking is and has been a major part of Bradys offense as has WR's running routes to get others open. DJ Moore even spoke about this during his first press conference with the trade that Brady did the same in Carolina and he was glad to see it still live on today. Im with you, I like Skyler Bell. But make no mistake about it, blocking is a critical aspect to Brady and his offense and its not going anywhere. Keon is going to be given every chance to be on the field, and like Mack Hollins (who Brady lobbied for do to his blocking after losing Davis in FA), he will see a lot of snaps unless Keons hasn't learned from his mistakes and blows it. 9 hours ago, SoonerBillsFan said: I think the priority is now on route running and catching first, not blocking. They need to put the beat receivers, not blockers, on the field. And just for the record, I do think Brady opens the passing game up more this year with DJ here and stuff - but I am also very confident in how much he and his offense use blocking from the WR's still being part of our offense, both in the pass and run game. So I still think as long as Keon buys in all the way, because of his blocking prowess alone that will keep him having a significant role. 1 Quote

I agree it should be part of their game, but you cant take better receiving talent off the field, just to put a better blocker out there. Quote

You can when you have DJ Moore, Shakir, Kincaid, Cook and Allen out there. And they did it since Brady took over and it’s produced the highest scoring team in the NFL and team history over that stretch, an MVP and a rushing title. And that was without having DJ Moore. 1 1 Quote

Bell transfered from Wisconsin (Big Ten) to independent UConn, generally considered a downgrade (lesser competition). He did what he is supposed to do there, i.e. dominating. But UConn's opponents are the likes of Buffalo, UMass, Syracuse etc. Boston College might the best opponent they play. Naturally there is still question of what would happen if he faced more NFL talent had he stayed in the Big Ten - he actually declined to transfer to Michigan for 2025 (leaving 500K on the table). Let's see how he fares against the likes of Benford, even IGB in camp before annointing him a starter. Edited May 3 by PoundingDog Quote

BigAl2526 Posted May 5 Posted May 5 I agree on both, but I think with the turnover in the roster, some other players may also have a fair amount of playing time. I think Parker will be a rotational edge rusher/OLB sooner rather than later. I read one assessment of Elarms-Orr that stated he is well ahead of Where Dorian Williams was when he was drafted. Combine that with the fact that he's uber-athletic and I think he has a chance to push for playing time this season. Hairston gets the nod over IGB at the start of the season, but IGB will get some time in dime situations, and maybe even in nickel on occasion, especially if the opponent is employing a big, physical slot receiver. Zurant and Pride are depth pieces at the start of the season and will only get playing time if they are super impressive or players ahead of them get hurt. It is the same with the offensive linemen the Bills drafted. Quote
BuffaloBill Posted May 6 Posted May 6 if the Bills are going to better cap manage and avoid building dead cap they need these picks to hit. Quote
