eball Posted April 30 Posted April 30 Flame out is more likely. He’s way too intense but I don’t see him overcoming his flaws. Quote
transient Posted April 30 Posted April 30 Because of the 2 extreme choices, I went with 3 years or less and fired. My rationale is this. If you give him a league average QB... which is the statistical probability, since it's league average, his style of football is much more likely to NOT get to a SB with that person than he is to get to a SB with that person. Since option B is contingent on him making it to a SB, I just can't see that happening. You could argue that the only possible exchange he could have made with Allen to improve his odds might... might... have been Mahomes, but I don't think it would have made a difference because he is very stubborn about how he plays the game and I don't think Mahomes changes that. I don't think he gets fired in 3 or less, but I think it's more probable than him going to a SB unless he catches lightning in a bottle twice at QB. 1 Quote

Nephilim17 Posted April 30 Posted April 30 McD couldn't get to a Super Bowl with Josh Allen; what makes you think he's getting there without Allen? 3 Quote
machine gun kelly Posted April 30 Posted April 30 (edited) McD’s IMO was unfairly based relentlessly here and in the media. The guy turned us from a laughing stock to one of the best teams in the NFL. Was it time to move on, maybe, but to think he can’t recreate success with another team is crazy. My middle son, I stated as its a long story became a Cards fan at age 7. McD’s would be perfect for a team like AZ. Change the culture, find a QB, and build a team with a competent GM. The GM like Beane buys an O Line, and creates time for a young QB to develop. McD’s has figured out how to beat young opposing QBs and he seems to find the recipe in his to beat certain teams like Lamar. He may never win a SB, but he sure knows how to build a winning program. Im not saying it may have been time to promote Brady, but we just have to wait and see. I’m not judging at this point, and really don’t want to rehash all the I hate McD’s stuff. And yes, I think he's in a position to pick and choose opportunities: where he wants to coach, the type of team he wants to take over. I would guess a smaller city (Panthers are just too obvious) and a young team. Just like the Bills situation when he took over here. Quote
GoBills808 Posted April 30 Posted April 30 i've said it since the 13 seconds game the guy is a mediocre HC who lucked into a weak division and squandered one of the greatest QBs to ever play football. that's his footnote in the history books 1 2 Quote

Then TBD will lose it collective mind... Quote

Who else fits those criteria? I can't think of anyone. Quote
Beck Water Posted April 30 Posted April 30 This is your obligatory Public Service Announcement that Andy Reid took 21 years with 2 teams to win a Superbowl. Did only take Reid 6 years to get to a Superbowl and lose it, though. 1 Quote

8BallSippin Posted April 30 Posted April 30 to the question, he'd be perfect for a 3 year stretch with a franchise that is looking to change and install a winning culture... then the next guy can take that team the next step. He is John Fox Jr, and that isn't bad, its just not good enough. 2 minutes ago, Gregg said: You forgot to add he will do it with either the Pats, Dolphins or Jets. LOL, it would have to be! I'd say the Dolphins would be the worst, followed by the Jets and Pats. I could totally see this happening... it would be as you say, Billsy AF 1 Quote

As a coach he Won 5 Stanley Cup NHL championships with Montreal, then coached the Sabres for seven seasons (never making the cup finals). After leaving Buffalo, he won 4 more Stanley Cup championships between two other teams. Buffalo is cursed. this makes me cry and i am not even a hockey fan (except when Sabres are in playoffs)😆😆😆 Edited April 30 by cba fan Quote
