Greg Gaines - offer him a minimum deal to come play some nose

Nabers isn’t going anywhere, and now that Lawrence was traded, the likelihood of Thibodaux being traded is low.

As much as I love them, I don’t want to see any of the old Bills retreads, even on min deals. Time to let go of Milano, Tre, cooks, Jordan Phillips: even Shaq seems like he could be close to jumping the shark.

At 90 with an IPP exemption for Clayton (so actually 91). Unsigned draft picks don't count until they are signed however.

I don’t see a path on the roster for one unless it’s a designated spot on the 53.

 

IMO we really only need to bring in a vet LB and everything else is pretty filled out, for better or for worse

Jordan Phillips vs Brandon cooks is definitely not apples-apples

 

for the defense I think we need to look at guys with ties to the new coaching tree not guys that could tag in because they knew mcdermotts playbook. Could one of those guys still be our best vet option coincidentally? Sure. But probably not several. 
 

cooks is not a long time bill and also played for Brady specifically- no harm if Brady liked him and brings him in over sherfield

This is going to be a very young team with tons of energy and speed opening day.

Cooks is a no brainer. I’d be on board with Shaq and/or Milano as well. All 3 are vets who offer something on one year deals. Cooks especially with how creates separation still for an old man.

It won't be min deals, but on the smaller side, yeah. Those three seem like good possibilities to me.

Not going to change as long as there's a salary cap and we're not in Los Angeles or New York. Every team has those guys.

Seeing a lot of Tre White in here. I don't see it.

 

I think the Trade Up and Drafting of IGB was the nail in that coffin. And the reasoning for that is two fold:

 

1.) With the investments in Benford and Hairston - those are your starters. Spending a 2nd Round Pick on a 3rd CB is a major investment. There's no way they paid that for him to be a 4th Boundary CB. Often times we don't even *keep* 4 Boundary CB's on the 53.

 

2.) IGB's strength is as a Press Man CB. Which leads me to believe that's what Leonhard wants out of his Corners. Tre White is a very good Zone CB. But Press Man is not his game. It's what got him cut by LA and had people thinking he was toast. It wasn't just his injuries. They asked him to play predominantly Man and he was atrocious at it.

I’m probably the other end of the spectrum. The way I look at it, he’s cheap. He’s had a productive career. He got open in this offense. Josh trusts him. I think he’s better than Keon/Palmer right now. He adds a field stretching element that’s lacking. IMO, he raises the floor AND ceiling for the WR room.
