It was verbal talks - a cross town kid played for him and made the connection to him. I had offers for track and seemed as likely to go as far in track. I wasnt a 5 star at all. Just a local kid with a knack to the throw the ball between my legs; a walk on status ain't much. This was before he was urban meyer. * The crosstown kid I knew played for the Jets a while. The kid I practiced snapping to for field goals as a little kid kicked for the vikings long after I lost touch. Guessing this was probably around 2001/2002? Where did you go to high school? I'm from a small town about 20 minutes away and considered walking on at Bowling Green as a guard but it was the year after Urban left for Utah. I ended up getting the opportunity to walk on at OSU and thankful to have ended up there over BG/UT... Edited May 5 by wolfpack78 Quote

Do you remember Drushun Humphrey? Broke my damn heart. I remember talking him when he was a freshman and realizing he was a grown ass man. Quote

Kmart128 Posted May 8 Posted May 8 So the Bills official signings has been released. An interesting tidbit. The Bills signed Zane Durant yesterday and listed him as a DT. The Bills signed Kody Huisman and the official release listed him as a DE. They both similar weight (in the 290s) so I thought they'd both be 3-4 DE. But based off official listing are we planning on playing Durant at NT? Quote

He could be a sleeper development guy. Quote

For a 300 lb football player, that's almost unbelievable. 1 Quote

Similar weight but Huisman is close to 3 inches taller. Durant likely has more of a compact build with shorter arms. Different body types for different positions despite the similarity in weight. 1 Quote

Sometimes it's more maybe dealing with an injury but they still wanted to work out Or it just shows a lower work ethic A weight room warrior isn't gonna have that performance so it might show lack of weight room work ethic Quote

Someone in his camp (his DAD maybe?????) should have advised him to skip the bench press. The whole thing is really mystifying... it goes in the bucket of "Things that should never have happened." 947 Posted Wednesday at 04:08 PM Posted Wednesday at 04:08 PM For 300+ pounders, the 225 bench test is more of an endurance event than a test of pure strength. 2 guys I knew in college made a bet on a 225lb bench-off. One guy was humongous, 450ish max bench. The other guy was built, but only weighed probably 220, max was 350ish. The 450lb max guy gassed out quickly and only got about 15 reps, the smaller guy got somewhere in the mid-20s. 10 reps by Fina is still embarrassing though... 1 Quote

Strength is an issue that can get fixed with better coaching and discipline where smarts and talent are not - plus he was a udfa. If he was stronger maybe he’s a drafted player - worth a flyer to see if better training and coaching can find a player worth keeping around Quote

As stated earlier, the decision to even participate showed a lack of judgement. Performing so poorly is not just a physical failure. Every prospect in the draft would be better off not doing the bench press if they are only able to do 10. For such an obviously smart kid, it's amazing that he allowed himself to show so poorly. Ten reps on the bench didn't increase his attractiveness to teams. 1 1 Quote
