Dave_Bills Posted April 25 Posted April 25 For everyone saying just pay RVD more, first of all, the cost for Bowery is significantly less, he’s a lot younger and can develop. none of the wide receivers on the board are any better that we can get with Cooks or another free agent. It’s round 4. There’s no Randy moss 2 1 2 Quote

oldmanfan Posted April 25 Posted April 25 This pick seems odd to me. I expected to get my big tub of goo NT. But they’re likely going BPA here, and if you believe Dawkins is starting to age it makes sense. You now have a HC that is an offense guy. If there was a WR he really wanted my guess is they would have got him. I don’t know that there were any WRs in this draft that were bona fide stars 1 Quote

Bills are up next at 125 and at first glance they don’t have a full time starter yet 🤷🏻♂️.. it’s time for someone to talk me off the ledge 😬 We have Josh Allen and McDermott is gone. That’s where my hope lives. 5 1 Quote

I am assuming they are taking BPA, which is how most feel you should draft. Drafting inferior players simply because of need is not good. I have no idea what their board looks like, but given how put off everyone seems to be, that is the likely what is happening. 2 1 Quote

But Beane keeps drafting backups. if DJ Moore gets hurt, the Wide Receiver room is the same shitshow as last year, and the year before, and the year before. FU Beane 4th round is BPA territory, not draft for need territory, IMO. 1 2 Quote

It’s frustration that they don’t take swings with higher picks to find a stud on a lower cost deal like GB - but it’s false to say it’s a big need - they have 4 deep now + shavers + they will resign cooks if they don’t draft one Quote
GolfandBills Posted April 25 Posted April 25 People crying about picks they’ve never seen play and haven’t played an NFL snap yet. Gotta love it 2 4 3 2 Quote

Was a basketball player with promise but fell in love with football. This is a potential immediate contributor but also a hedge against Dion Dawkins decline in future years. This is a decent pick. He is a little raw but played in a pro style O and started at LT for two years. He is quick on his feet and quick to set, has punch and drive but needs to improve to be at a pro level. kromer loved two things with late tackles: 1) putting them at guard 2) putting them as a 6th blocker curious to see how the new guy will develop him but a gifted guy that needs to build confidence and both those options could help take him to starting LT next year 4 Quote
26TrapDraw Posted April 25 Posted April 25 (edited) It’s obvious that Beane and his scouting department thinks that the remaining linebackers and wideouts are garbage and is trying to get anything worth a damn. Can’t fault him for that. Cupboard seems bare in this draft for what we need. Edited April 25 by 26TrapDraw 1 Quote

There was a legit need to get a swing tackle Grabel is a nice prospect but he's not sure fire depth like RVD was. And then there's the need to try to get someone in there developing behind Dawkins while Dawkins still has a year or two left in him (thus you can take a guy in round 4 who might need a year or two to develop instead of having to take a guy high up to plug in asap). I would have preferred they find some speed at WR or a NT/LB but they have 4 more picks in round 4-5 so there's lots of players still there that can help attempt to fill some of those needs. 1 Quote

I’m not just defending Beane for the sake of it but all three picks have filled needs maybe not the most urgent needs but the longer term depth and development needs have been filled. Parker gives the team something after Groot and Chubb off the Edge, The corner taken is durable and a bigger player than the team has had in that role in the past, and now they added a swing tackle heir apparent to Dion. I feel like the drought era would be drafting a RB and a TE early with this roster We have spent our first 3 picks on guys who are the 3rd and 4th men up at their position at best. At best. Beane is treating this roster like we're the Seahawks just coming off a SB victory. We're not, and we're not closer just because of the trade for DJ Moore. We still have glaring holes at LB, NT, and we need another legit threat at WR. Beane is out here drafting like it's Madden and you can just go in to change a player's ratings. It's not. This is real life. 1 Quote
