NeverOutNick Posted April 25 Posted April 25 First off no idea why he would do a presser between picks when you have 3 fourth round picks, one of which is the first pick in the 4th round. That move makes me think he doesn’t really have a board he sticks to. If he did he’d be excited to see if a players slips maybe we should trade up for him. Makes me think he chills until it’s around 5-10 slots away from his pick and then starts to work his “board”…anyways I’m trying to stay positive but for everyone, including me, who wants cheap long term WR options don’t get your hopes up. Beane basically came out and said hey guys we’ve got Mecole Hardman and you’ll be surprised how well this guy Coleman we’ve got now (sarcasm) looks. Dude will never learn. He will die with his mindset on WRs. He spent enough on them and doesn’t care what anyone thinks, he’s done. I hope I’m wrong and we take a couple on day 3 since there are plenty still left (see below list) but don’t hold your breath. 1 1 1 1 Quote
MJS Posted April 25 Posted April 25 Or he looked at his board and knew nobody was worth trading way up for so he could wait until his pick is closer. 6 Quote
QB Bills Posted April 25 Posted April 25 I also don't get this. Maybe it's a mandated thing? Otherwise, how can you hold a long press conference while the f'n draft is still going on? Did he think round 3 started tomorrow? Also, had to love his line about how they needed corners because of injuries last year, when the Hairston injury at the end of the season only happened because he was forced to play in a meaningless game due to Beane waiving Ingram only to get rejected by Darius slay. Beane also needed to go this year. Hate that he's still in charge. 1 4 3 3 Quote
gonzo1105 Posted April 25 Posted April 25 I just said it in the discussion thread it also could have been he wanted to do the presser when he knew he wouldn't trade up so he could get back into the War room for when a trade was possible. If the Bills took 101 and another 4th they could get up around this range. Quote
JakeFrommStateFarm Posted April 25 Posted April 25 Did he say no need to draft a WR because Palmer is going to have a breakout season ? 1 1 Quote

TFBillsfan Posted April 25 Posted April 25 Beyond disappointed with yet another draft that Beane just pisses away with meh players. We had a huge hole at the LB position, one year rentals at S, and needs at DT and WR. So what does Beane do, trade backs three times for a meh edge player that was lackluster in a weak ACC conference. He had a DT sitting perfectly to be taken at 35 that would have immediately addressed a need. He could have easily moved up ahead of Chicago for a quality S. Then after acquiring extra picks, reaches for a player at 35 and then trades up to get a meh CB. Neither of whom will start. For cripe sakes, at least draft someone that you expect to start and fill a gap. Parker continues the mode under Beane of Boogie Basham, AJE, Carter, Sanders and Landon Jackson. All drafted too soon and major underachievers. Thus the extra FA money he has to spend for his drafting misses/mistakes on the DL. So many other directions to go and he chooses the worst direction. This is a C- draft at best with his first two picks. Really struggling to defend Beane to justify that he can build a SB roster. 1 3 2 2 Quote

wppete Posted April 25 Posted April 25 This is turning out to be a disaster of a draft. Could this be theblast we see of Beane? Sure seems like it. Quote

billieve420 Posted April 25 Posted April 25 Is Beane even running the draft wonder if he steps down from his GM role post draft. Odd to hold presser while round wasn’t close to being finished. 1 1 Quote

And he mentioned the potential of Javon Solomon, then drafted TJ Parker. If youre trying to find reasons to complain, you'll always be right. Lets see what plays out through tomorrow, and more FA signings prior to TC. Quote
Turbo44 Posted April 25 Posted April 25 Beane should have been fired with McDermott if Pegula had any clue 1 4 1 2 Quote
