Logic Posted April 20 Posted April 20 I think the two most interesting comments so far have been, first, Brady yet again reiterating his belief and confidence in Keon Coleman. I don't think its smoke. I think he'll have every chance to win a legitimate role in this offense. Lets see what he does with it. And two, Beane's comments about number of 1st round grades. Seems like a trade-down is almost assured, presuming they can find a partner. I continue to believe that a modest trade-down and selecting an edge rusher is the most likely outcome. Quote

I think that’s the most desirable outcome, but it takes two to tango when it comes to trades. Unless Arizona gets antsy and decides to come up and trade for a quarterback, who else out there really wants somebody badly enough to trade back into the first round? 1 1 Quote

I don't like the ACL tear, and for this reason and initially put a line through his name, when thinking about players I'd like for us to draft. However, he seems to have a rare combination of size, speed, and attitude. Can't help but to think of Moulds. I'm not going to pretend like I knew anything about Burks coming out, but it doesn't seem like Burks had the same kind of explosiveness, but please tell me if I'm wrong. I'm also comparing how other top wideouts did against Miami, and this honestly could be skewing the evaluation for me. I guess (2) questions. Why do you say he's raw? What makes you say Burks as opposed to AJ Brown? Bell has a nastiness too him that I don't think Burke has or had. AJ Brown very much has that bully mentality. Quote

So Allen said McGovern called him, basically saying good bye; Allen told him to hold on for a second, and he proceeded to give Beane a call; in Allen's word, "Beane said he's working on it." I'm sure there is more details to it - I'd imagine McGovern told Allen the numbers etc. and Beane probably told Allen a lot more than just "working on it." Allen might even be a broker of what Beane's number to McGovern's willingness to take less than the market. But on surface, Allen appears to be forceful to dictate personnel is not something I agree with whole heartedly. I'm not saying I don't like McGovern, just the principle of relationship of the players and the FO. One thing we noticed since the McDermott's firing is that OBD seems to bringing Allen into all major decisions. That might be what Dunne's alleged friction between McDermott and Allen. McDermott is probably the old-fashioned coach that he just wants the player to play (think of Belichick famously loved to criticize Tom Brady in front of the whole team: no one is above the team when you make mistakes). Maybe they are going the route to cuddle (probably not the right word) Allen every chance they get. The premise for this to work depends on 1) Allen being 100% dedicated to teams' success and 2) Allen is right more than he's wrong in football decision. Point 1) is great. Point 2)? Allen is going to get some of the blame regardless. I do not care if he gives his input as he is the Franchise and if it doesn’t end up working out then Allen will have to accept the criticism that comes along with it. Winning the Super Bowl is the goal and it takes an entire organization to make that happen. Quote
