A few days ago The Athletic/New York Times release a full 7-round mock draft by their NFL draft expert, Dane Brugler.

This was before the Dexter Lawrence trade so take it for what it's worth. It also includes a hypothetical trade between Cleveland and Dallas: Browns receive Nos. 12, 20 and a 2027 fourth-round pick; Cowboys receive Nos. 6 and 39.

Out of respect for their intellectual property I'll only post only the first 26 picks and the Bills selections.

I am very intrigued by Malik Benson.  I have heard his speed compared to Tyreeek Hill.  He was supposedly a very good athlete I high school, but a very bad student, which lead to a time at a JuCo and some bouncing around in college.

Supposedly he has first round talent, and is expected to develop into an elite NFL WR.  I would LOVE to see us et him at pick #126.

Home run draft for Cleveland. Fano, Conception and McNeil-Warren. Damn. Good thing for the Bills they don’t have a QB.

I definitely can see the Bills picking Lawrence. I’ve read about him but I still need to watch some of his tape.

Watched some film of Lawrence and I’d hate him as our first round pick. He seems to me like a more raw version of what we have in Chubb and Rousseau so I wouldn’t see the point in adding someone like him. I was expecting a quick, flexible Edge who could bend the edge, but he ain’t that guy. So hard pass for me.

I think this board could (should?) debate McDonald’s worth to the Bills. Is a NT who is an outstanding run defender, but has shown nothing as a pass rusher worth pick 26? What’s the value of such a player in today’s NFL? And does McDonald have any upside in that regard? If the answer to that last question is “not much” then it’s going to be a tough sell for me, but I’d be willing to listen - and I would still prefer him over Lawrence. At least he would bring something to the Bills that they don’t already have.

Agree.  I go back and forth on McDonald v. some other DTs.  How much better is he than Benny or others who will be available later.  It seems he has pass rushing "upside", and at the very worst high-impact run stopping.  The thing weighing me toward McDonald is that it will (should) make Williams and Bernard more impactful.

Good post.

I really like all coverage of the Athletic, except Graham. I think his work is poor.

Joe B’s updated draft is really interesting. I like the first 2 picks. Lawrence and an ILB.

Maybe I’m just cheap, nbut $8 per month is a bit overpriced.  I tell The Athletic I’m going to drop my sub, and they give me a $30/year offer.

I hope Beane can package a deal together to move up for Concepcion. He’s the twice WR as Coleman and will have an immediate impact. Will turn the WR room into a position of strength. Bring back Cooks and the Bills are sitting pretty for September.

The Bills have only talked to Benson, Lawrence and Cleveland.  I'd be surprised if they grabbed Lawrence at 26, as they could trade down and still take Lawrence as late at 33-35.

Same. We need some explosion at the position. We have our slow burn power rushers. What we don't have is speed, unless we want to include Solomon who is undersized former 5th round pick.

There's a very wide range that Lawrence can go in.

In our TSW Mock Draft 2.0, he went 58th to the Niners.

In several mocks he's going to the Bills and I've even seen a few where he's taken before our pick.

Should be interesting.

I really like Concepcion. A lot of people here are hung up on the idea that he's some cross between Shakir and Zay Flowers.

I don't see that but I'm no scout either.
