Ethan in Cleveland Posted April 19 Posted April 19 I looked through all the QBs again today. This class may be the worst in NFL history. Its hard to find anyone with even a single thing to say they do well... It would be nice to get cheaper at the backup QB spot . If Drew Allar falls to 5th round he might be a guy to take a flyer on. You cant teach size and arm strength. At least he has those. Anyone else worthy of a day 3 pick? 1 Quote
Wizard Posted April 19 Posted April 19 I like Allar and Payton, the QB from North Dakota State. As you mentioned. they both are big, have plus arms, and there is some scrambling ability per scouting profiles. If there is a 5th-7th round guy that they like, go for it. 2 Quote
MJS Posted April 19 Posted April 19 I personally don't see the point in drafting anyone. Just keep signing free agent backups. 3 2 Quote

I'd rather draft a punter than waste a pick on a developmental QB. The Bills don't need to be drafting a QB for the next few years. Their model is bringing in veterans to back up Josh & at this point that makes the most sense. 4 4 Quote

I’m okay with that assuming they are Trubisky quality and not Kyle Allen quality. I’d just assume a day 3 pick on Allar or Payton and hope they’re the number 2. 947 Posted April 19 Posted April 19 I agree they should draft a QB, but 6th round sounds better to me than 5th. We haven't had a decent backup for a while, Mitch was OK but barely tested in a meaningful situation. Kyle Allen isn't good enough to be the only backup on the team. Allar, Klubnik, Payton, or Nussmeier if he falls are worthwhile draftees. Quote
Dave_Bills Posted April 19 Posted April 19 I’m in the minority but I’ve seen enough Drew Allar to pass. I don’t think he can be developed 1 Quote

I know he was undrafted, but he also has some valuable experience in the league. 1 Quote

He’s only here because he Josh’s buddy. I’m not even suggesting that’s wrong but let him be on the PS. If Josh misses a month, Kyle Allen can’t be the guy playing. 3 Quote

Almost every day 3 pick at QB is most likely at least equally as horrible and will probably have much shorter careers than Kyle Allen. It isn't just because he is Josh's buddy. He has been employed in the league since 2018 by 5 other franchises besides Buffalo. All those teams thought he was valuable enough to roster and even play in games from time to time. Im with ya, he was undrafted and no team has really wanted to retain him. Quote

The difference between Allen and day 3 guys is they might be less awful. They almost certainly won’t be more awful. You may find a quality number 2 or even a trade candidate. I’d imagine if Josh is missing a month the plan would be to trade for a guy to fill in. I don’t believe that they’d let Kyle Allen run the offense for a month. 1 Quote
MrEpsYtown Posted April 20 Posted April 20 I mean if you are gonna take a flyer on a guy to develop it’s probably this guy, no? 2 Quote
