Kirby Jackson Posted April 19 Posted April 19 The Bengals must feel that they’re closer to a title than most think. I appreciate them pushing the chips in. It sounds like a big return. Quote

It sounds like a big return. They are nothing close to a title and their one run was completely flukey.. I think he's much more likely to never play in a Super bowl again They're not even a top five teams in the AFC their owner is trying to get fans in the seats Edited April 19 by Buffalo716 1 1 4 Quote

It sounds like a big return. They lost Hendrickson and Ossai and acquired Mafe/Lawrence. That seems like a basically a push. Not much of note other than those moves. I still don't think they're a playoff team let alone a Super Bowl contender. 1 Quote
HappyDays Posted April 19 Author Posted April 19 (edited) I'll wait to see exactly what the trade includes but yeah it feels like an overpay. My instinct is that they'll give Cincy #37 back or something like that. If it is just straight up #10 for Lawrence that is a massive overpay IMO. EDIT: Whelp nevermind: That's a shocking offer. And presumably they'll be paying him like $30M per year. I get it, he's a great player, but short of Aaron Donald or Chris Jones in their prime I wouldn't give that much up for any DT. Exchanging Trey Hendrickson for Lawrence is a lateral move at best. They could have had a legit elite defensive prospect on a rookie deal. Edited April 19 by HappyDays 1 2 Quote

Shaw66 Posted April 19 Posted April 19 Whatever the deal, it shows how valuable top ten picks are. Lawrence can be a destructive force, and if all you have for serious trade bait is the 27th pick, you it's really hard to get into the conversation 4 3 Quote
NewEra Posted April 19 Posted April 19 Prime Burrow, Chase and Tee. Might as well take a swing 6 Quote
sven233 Posted April 19 Posted April 19 Here I was thinking that 26 would be a steep price to pay, but I would have done it because he's a great player. But, 10 overall? Not a freaking chance! That's way too rich if you ask me. 1 3 Quote
HappyDays Posted April 19 Author Posted April 19 Just now, NewEra said: Prime Burrow, Chase and Tee. Might as well take a swing They're the polar opposite of the Bills. They now have four elite players, but they have none of the meat and potatoes. If Burrow actually stays healthy they can make a run but it feels like there are too many positions where they don't have starting caliber talent. 1 6 Quote

If you cant get a deal done with Schoen/Mara, aint no way this will go well with Brown. 1 Quote

What reason is there to think that Cincy is going to go on a run? Their offseason has been static at best and now they traded their one premium asset. They haven't even made the postseason in 4 years lol 1 1 Quote
NeverOutNick Posted April 19 Posted April 19 Probably a little bit of an overpay but he’s an elite DT. Not many dudes built like him. Would’ve gave our #26 for him but 10 is steep Quote
strive_for_five_guy Posted April 19 Posted April 19 Well, would have been pretty much impossible to beat that offer 2 Quote
