Sojourner Posted April 20 Posted April 20 One thing I do like is how much Paramount+ and Prime included sports now. Granted Theyre not the prime time slots but they’ve acquired their fair share of games from different sports that are included in subscriptions a large majority have. Quote

For the 2026 season, New York Yankees games are spread across 10 different networks or streaming services, making it highly fragmented for viewers. Key streaming platforms include the YES Network (via Gotham Sports App), Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV+, Peacock, and Netflix. Core Streaming Platforms for Yankees Games (2026): YES Network (Gotham Sports App): The primary home for the vast majority of local games. Amazon Prime Video: Exclusively streaming 21 regular-season games. Apple TV+: Streaming Friday night games, including Yankees matchups. Peacock: Airing Sunday games (replacing Roku from previous years). Netflix: Streaming select games, including the season opener. MLB.TV: Provides out-of-market coverage for games. It is very frustrating. I remember growing up in Buffalo in the 1970's and early 80's my parents had international cable. We got all the Yankees games on WPIX Channel 11 out of NYC and all the Mets games on WOR Channel 9 out of NYC. It was easy. Than when I was in college in Michigan, and then after college in Atlanta we got the Braves on WTBS Superstation and the Cubs on WGN superstation. You always knew where every game was going to be. Now its so much more difficult to find where your team is playing in a lot of sports. I am not very technically savvy. So fortunately I still have UVerse and just put in the search where my teams are, and that usually works. The Sabres were on ESPN last night, so that was low hanging fruit. Quote

My kids have literally never seen the second half of a game (their bedtime is 8:30pm). But having access to every NFL game live on one service is excellent (what was NFL Intl GamePass and is now DAZN). Interesting, we also have the NFL pass in DAZN in the UK but there are games which are blacked out (sky get first choice of games for the 6pm and 9pm games) so unfortunately you can’t just rely on that and needs sky sports too if you want to be sure of getting everything. Do they do something similar in Germany? Quote

I am now about to order the NHL playoffs from DAZN so I can watch the Sabres! There goes my sleep schedule again... Quote
quincy Posted April 21 Posted April 21 This year it appears that the free MLB game of the day is no more. As an international viewer I don't think I can sign up to ESPN and signing up to watch the games is quite expensive with the official channels in Europe. I maybe watched 10 to 12 games a year for 11 or 12 years and I will miss that random spontaneous game when I have nothing else on. You could get MLB/NFL/NBA/NHL free to air at times in Europe in the early 2000's and now only the NFL is consistently shown FTA to my knowledge. Quote

The prior season you had a good rhythm as to how the week would go for nationally televised games. Monday- NBATV Tuesday- TNT Wednesday- ESPN Thursday- TNT Friday- ESPN Weekends after football season- ABC This season the schedule was so scattered. You had games just on Peacock, games on NBC, games on Prime Video, and games on ESPN/ABC. I honestly caught so many less NBA games this year because I just never knew when they were on unless the Knicks were playing. All major sports need to make sure it is simple and easy to find their games. People just resort to piracy, hell they caught LeBron using StreamEast to watch NBA games on an I-Pad at one of his sons high school games back before they shut it down. LeBron is a literal billionaire he can afford anything so he probably just went to piracy because he didn't feel like figuring out how to watch a dam game. Since the likes of players like Jordan, Koby, & Shaq, retired I don't watch the NBA ! The fowls are to ticky talk & there's one player in particular I can't stand . I don't mind watching a college game every now and again March Madness is pretty awesome, but the NBA i wouldn't walk across the street to see a game . And none of the major networks seem to even care that the Stanley cup play offs are on but you can find those games . GO SABRES !! Quote
JohnnyCash Posted April 22 Posted April 22 Since when are cable channels the same as streaming services? Having games on TBS/TNT/ESPN is not the same as games on Prime/Netflix/Peacock. Quote
