Virgil Posted April 15 Posted April 15 (edited) It's time for our first TSW Mock Draft Poll. For those who aren't following along in the main thread, this is a mock draft run by TSW board members each running a different team. The Bills pick will be selected by this poll. This is a no-trade mock, so trading back is not an option. I am going to remove the bottom vote getters at 7p and 10p. If you have already voted before those times and your player was eliminated, please vote again. The top 3 players will then go from 10p until 9a tomorrow, when the Bills will make their pick. Dr. Who Posted April 15 Posted April 15 This is a much more difficult range of options than what was valid for 26. Chris Bell, however, was taken by the Jests at 33. 1 1 2 Quote

buffaloboyinATL Posted April 15 Posted April 15 Ok, I still went with Chris Brazzell II, because I feel as though he will be a difference maker for us, but to be honest, it was a very difficult decision, with Allen and Howell still being on the board. This does however reinforce the decision to trade down. 1 Quote
GunnerBill Posted April 15 Posted April 15 All of those except Branch are in the top 22 players remaining on my board 2 Quote
HappyDays Posted April 15 Posted April 15 As usual I try to be predictive. I voted Malachi Lawrence. I continue to think front 7 player is the most likely selection with our first pick. Lawrence fits the usual Beane profile of an elite athlete that fills a need. No top 30 visit has been reported yet but only 12 have been reported so far so you can't entirely rely on that, and we did at least have a combine meeting with him. 1 1 Quote

However, I think there is probably more merit in the defensive side here. I don't like Howell, however, and his T-rex arms. Given positional value, I think edge over ILB or S, though Allen and Mcneil-Warren would be solid choices. Folks are going to go for Lawrence at Edge. I prefer him over Howell, personally, but I prefer Jacas over Lawrence. We hired an Illinois defensive coach as our d-line coach. I think that might give Jacas someone who will lobby for him. 2 Quote
Kirby Jackson Posted April 15 Posted April 15 This list feels pretty decent for the Bills (outside of WR anyways). If the draft falls this way, they have a few defensive options. I voted McNeil-Warren because I think he’s the best player. Paired with Bishop they’d potentially be dynamic. It feels like it will be a front 7 pick. 1 Quote
Sierra Foothills Posted April 15 Posted April 15 (edited) I watched Malachi Lawrence in 2 condensed games... against #6 Texas Tech and #11 BYU. His talent is exciting but he is a diamond in the rough. In fact he is pretty clueless as to how to play the run, often guessing wrong, often losing contain and having his eyes in the wrong place. It's always strange to me that a player can excel at the FBS level and not have a good grasp of leverages and other fundamentals. Also from those 2 games, his physicality is pretty average. I know there's been a lot of very recent buzz about him (Joe Marino?) but IMO he's a project and not a sure thing. Edited April 15 by Sierra Foothills Quote

He is a designated pass rusher only as a rookie IMO. I wouldn't ideally take that at #26. But at #36, maybe. I think there are better players on the board here though. 1 Quote

No_Matter_What Posted April 15 Posted April 15 (edited) Yeah this confirms my theory that we are either picking WR (Concepcion most likely) at 26 or trade down and pick D. This looks like a solid list of defensive options. Allen, Hill, Golday (+Rodriguez) at LB, Lawrence or Jacas at EDGE (we are not taking Howell), McNeil-Warren at S or Banks, Miller or Hunter at DT. Just pick the right guy Edit: I picked McNeil-Warren since I don't watch college but he is BPA for both Jeremiah and Brugler who I trust and is also consensus BPA. dpberr Posted April 15 Posted April 15 Easy choice for me. McNeil-Warren as a strong safety. Highest-ranked prospect on Daniel Jeremiah's board (#16) in this group of players. Toledo plays outdoors, so he's played (and excelled) in playing in "football" weather. He's 6'4" with above average football IQ and instincts. 1 1 Quote
KOKBILLS Posted April 15 Posted April 15 If I was Beane in this scenario I would have an aneurysm trying to decide between Lawrence and Miller... 1 Quote
Alphadawg7 Posted April 15 Posted April 15 Not sure how we could pass on McNeil-Warren here, I would have taken him at 25 even. Him and Bishop would lock down our back end of our secondary for 10 years. 2 1 Quote

I’m always of the belief that if you have a chance to be elite somewhere that makes the most sense. The Bills would have a chance to be special on the back end. 2 1 1 Quote

It seems like Leonhard builds from the back forward. The Bills, with McNeil-Warren have a chance to have an ELITE secondary. They need some things to go their way. He would have to make an immediate impact. CJGJ and Alford would have to be impactful. Benford has to be healthy. Max has to be the guy that he looked like pre-injury. That’s a lot to ask but they could be otherworldly in the secondary if that happens. Quote
