DrDawkinstein Posted April 13 Posted April 13 (edited) Alright Bills Fans, looking at the poll in this thread... who would we be targeting at 14? If we are trading up, I'd rather target 21 just because I dont want to lose any picks in the 2027 draft, but if someone we love is there at 14... edit: just checked poll results and it doesnt look like we'll be trading up lol but i do like the thought exercise. If we HAD to trade up to 14, who would we want? Edited April 13 by DrDawkinstein Quote

LEBills Posted April 13 Posted April 13 With the 12th pick, the Dallas Cowboys select Jermod McCoy, CB, Tennessee The Cowboys defense is in need of immense talent influx at all levels of the field. Shavon Revel struggled as a rookie and Daron Bland had a mix of injuries and average play. McCoy was on pace to being a top 10 pick before tearing his ACL in 2025. Reports are that he began practicing at the end of the year but did no suit up for a game. Well the Cowboys had him in for a top 30 visit and watched him blaze a 4.38 40 followed by jumping out of the gym. Jerry has never been shy about taking talented players that have been discounted due to injury or personality. And their is nothing Jerry likes to do more than the same thing over and over again. The Rams and @Big Blitz are on the clock 4 Quote
gonzo1105 Posted April 13 Posted April 13 I know it’s still early but the Vikings are willing to listen to trade down offers at 18 Quote
Big Blitz Posted April 13 Posted April 13 (edited) With the 13th pick in the draft, the Los Angeles Rams select Makai Lemon, WR USC. The rich get richer, and more playmakers. We have what we believe is an elite slot WR to add to an arsenal that includes Puka and Adams. A young JSN added to this mix will make us lethal. And a WR that allows us some flexibility if we wish with Adams. With Puka’s pending record WR deal, adding another cheap WR to complement him on a rookie deal the next 4 plus seasons is exactly what you want to be able to do. And a nice bonus, he gets to stay in L.A. The Baltimore Ravens and @HappyDays are on the clock. Edited April 13 by Big Blitz 3 Quote
HappyDays Posted April 13 Posted April 13 With the 14th pick, the Ravens select Keldric Faulk, EDGE, Auburn. Vega Ioane is penciled into this spot in just about every mock draft. Admittedly part of me wanted to go off of consensus just to see how that would affect the mock draft as a whole, but there are also good reasons to think he won't be the pick. Yes the Ravens badly need IOL help but Ioane is seen as more of a pure pass protector with less run blocking traits, and for an offense led by Lamar Jackson and Derrick Henry that is not an ideal skill set. Also new OC Declan Doyle is bringing his version of Ben Johnson's offense to Baltimore which means a heavy dose of outside zone. Ioane doesn't have the requisite athleticism to be a high end move blocker so he isn't necessarily a great scheme fit. Incoming head coach Jesse Minter decides to make a high upside high character defensive player the first pick of his tenure. Baltimore hasn't taken a 1st round defensive lineman since Odafe Oweh in 2021, and with Nnamdi Madubuike's future in question we simply need more talent across the line even after signing Trey Hendrickson. Faulk was a team captain at Auburn so he can help to set the locker room tone for a new coach. Faulk immediately steps in as a high impact run defender (led the FBS in run stops over the past three seasons) so his skill set complements Hendrickson well. His pass rush technique is still a work in progress but he is young (will just be turning 22 in September) and has prototypical frame and length, so all the tools are there to develop into a more all around high impact EDGE. In Minter's scheme he will primarily play 4i but he can also reduce inside on passing downs where his length will give guards trouble. Tampa @RyanC883 is on the clock. 2 1 Quote

RyanC883 Posted April 13 Posted April 13 With the 15th Pick, Tampa Bay selects TJ Parker, Edge, Clemson. After seeing the Edge it wanted go one pick earlier, TB finds the last Edge it feels comfortable taking here. Parker provides a solid floor as an immediate run stopper, and his pass rushing upside is immense as shown by 2024 (assuming he adjusts his technique). The NJJ and @Mike in Horseheads are on the clock. 4 Quote
Mike in Horseheads Posted April 13 Posted April 13 With the 16th pick of the 2026 Virgil Mock draft 2, The Jersey Jets select,Ty Simpson , QB, Alabama. The Lions and @GunnerBill are on the clock The Jets hope to have Simpson continue the success of the past 25 years of QB picks such as Chad Pennington, Kellen Clemons, Mark Sanchez, Geno Smith, Christian Hackenberg, Sam Darnold and Zach Wilson. All of the listed were 1st or 2nd rd picks. (success on other teams like Darnold doesn’t count) Expect the Jets to turn him into WR or CB in preseason 4 1 Quote

GunnerBill Posted April 13 Posted April 13 With the 17th pick in the 2026 TSW Mock Draft v2.0 the kneecap biting Detroit Lions select: Spencer Fano, OT, Utah I have almost DM'd two GMs in front of me to try and trade up for Fano but restraint has paid off as the Lions select the best offensive lineman in the draft and my best player remaining at #17. The question marks on Fano were arm length and whether he can play left tackle but in Detroit we don't care. Our success in 2023 and 2024 was built on a monster offensive line. Three of those five guys are now gone - Glasgow, Ragnow and most recently Taylor Decker. We are flipping Penei Sewell to left tackle where he will dominate and at the moment have only career backup Larry Borom at right tackle. That is where we will start Spencer Fano and if the length is an issue outside he at worst ends up a top flight guard My partner in crime @gonzo1105 and the Kyler Murray led Vikings are on the clock! 3 1 Quote

I was going to grab him for the Steelers because I think that Rodgers is completely, officially done. Did you see him against Houston? Often these guys can lose it all at once. If I was the GM of the Steelers in the real world I would trade up to take Simpson. There would be nothing to lose. If he sucks and they bottom out they can try again next year. Once again, great pick!!! 1 1 Quote

Not saying it's a bad pick at all. "But" pick 17 on a RT that may end up a G is pretty rich IMO. Though I do suppose in this weak class you gotta take what's there and be a bit more flexible when it comes to premium position vs best fit for need. Quote

I looked at the Steelers or Cardinals (trading up) taking him before my next pick at 33. Then @Virgil said he was going to take him at 30. I wish I knew what the Steelers are thinking anymore. That franchise seems to making a lot of Billsy decisions any more. Quote

On the principle - I agree but I'd say three things: 1. I have 14 first round grades, Fano is #13 and is genuinely my BPA here; 2. There is no more OL reliant team in the NFL right now than the Lions. Their OL took a step back in 2025, so did the team; 3. I do think Fano can play left tackle in a pinch. Do I think he will ever be a franchise left tackle? No. But if Sewell went down for 3 or 4 games could he flip out there and be serviceable? I think he could. There was one premium position guy that I have a second round grade on that I might have reached for here who is lower on my board but a perfect scheme fit in Detroit. He already went. If he was here I still probably go Fano but I'd have had the internal debate with myself. 2 1 Quote

gonzo1105 Posted April 13 Posted April 13 With the 18th pick in the 2026 NFL draft, the Minnesota Vikings select: Dillon Thieneman, S, Oregon Reason; The Vikings have a few weaknesses on their roster but their big question mark is in the secondary with both CB and S being a concern. Thieneman is a good all around S who will work best playing centerfield. @RyanC883 and the Panthers are on the clock 2 Quote
