I’m from New Jersey and started watching football in the early 90s so I def remember him.  He was supposed to be the next Joe Namath but it never was to be.  Some blamed coaching.

Very sad to learn this about him

Omg, I remember right after the draft, Browning sang and people said he might be the next Broadway Joe with his charisma and charm.  Let's celebrate with the young players about to embark on their NFL journey on draft night and remember  the words of Seals and Crofts; we'll never pass this way again.

Seems like lately every time I hear of a 40-60 year old dying it's colon cancer.

Get your checkups.

Yes, get your colonoscopies! Especially if you have a family history and should be getting that colonoscopy at 40 now. I care for many colorectal cancer patients and it is a terrible disease… does not discriminate on age at all.

RIP Browning!

Former Buffalo Destroyers QB in 2000.

I actually won a fantasy football league with Nagle as my starting QB.  It was the early 90s and everything was done by hand so it was a TD only league.  Also, because of the lack of computers, trades and waivers were very limited...I think 4 per year (too much work for the commish).  I had a great team with a great QB who got injured in our league playoffs.  For the championship game, all I had was Nagle - no moves left, past the deadline, etc.  I remember him because I agonized whether I should start him or leave him on the bench because our league had negative points for pick sixes and fumble sixes.  I started him and he got me zero points.

Every week I drive past all the fast food places; McD, BK, Wendy's, Popeyes, Taco Bell, KFC, 5 Guys, Sonic, Nathans, Subway, Dominos, even White Castle...our colons can't take all that crappy stuff anymore

Our colons never could take that crappy stuff.  And you forgot to mention all the processed stuff at the grocery store.  If it comes in a box or a bag it's not food it's poison. My best advice shop the perimeter and eat whole foods.

Pizza comes in a box and I've been making my own dough sauce and fresh moz for years too

Maybe it's not the best for you but it certainly is not poison

Going to your local pizza joint in Buffalo isn't poison tho .. moderation is key for everything

You can also do the tests where you put your poop in a box and give it to UPS. It’s kinda funny handing a guy a box of your poo and the test is obviously less invasive. I’m not sure if this method is as effective as a colonoscopy but for those who  won’t endure having the uncomfortable colonoscopy, this is an alternative.

Don’t ignore it.

Cologuard should only be used by those at average risk. It is less effective at determining existing polyps than a true colonoscopy. It is convenient, but one should discuss with their doctor what is best test for them specifically.

For those with above average risk, especially a family history a colonoscopy is the best procedure to determine colon health.  It took me too many years to do my first and I have a family history. It was stupid on my part to wait so long…thankfully, I had a clean exam.  Yes, the prep is not fun, but it is completely doable.
