Its usually fueled around players that are due or in line for a lucrative contract.Β

Yep, there isΒ usually someΒ validity to reporting on it since it indicates where negotiations are and that directly affects the roster, draft, FA, etc.

  • De'Von Achane didn't attend and its such a big dealΒ πŸ™„

Why does it bother you, that they are reporting on football news when they are likely the teams reporters?Β Β

Β

Haven't you heard enough about women's college basketball by now, and baseball in general?Β  I sure have.

Yup. And, if they didn't report it people would be asking nonstop. Look at last year with Cook. "Did he report yet? Oh he did? What was his participation? Did he do drills or just sit off to the side? What did he have for lunch?"

Lets think this through for a minute.

Unless you just won the superbowl, by definition, your team can be better.

Practice usually makes you better.

Β

to highlight, OTA provide an opportunity for:

Β

--Team building

--Check in on offseason strength/conditioining/weight goals

--Develop timing/"chemistry" with new pass catchers/throwers

Β

Call me crazy, but I think OTA attendance should be mandatory.

Yes, these guys work hard, but they work for 7-9 months out of the year.Β  Anyone else here with a full time job working those hours?

My take is the exact opposite… My question is always, why wouldn’t you attend the workouts?? Voluntary or not. If you don’t attend, it tells me you aren’t bought in. All these guys get paid a lot of money to play a sport that we would all play for free. It’s an opportunity to be with the boys again. You’ve been off for three months already, and you’re going to be off again for another couple of months. So why in the hell can’t you go do some very light workouts and be with your teammates??

Say what you want, but it does often mean something. The vast majority of players do show up to the voluntary stuff. The ones who don't sometimes are trying to send a message to the team that they aren't happy with something (not always, but sometimes).
