Bills have informed the league they want to open the new stadium in primetime.

Chicago Bears. Monday Night Football. Bills had SNF opener last year. They won't get it two years in a row plus the league won’t feel bad about the Bills then playing 5 and a half days later since they requested prime time to open the stadium.

No surprise here.  Even if the Bills didn't request it, I could almost guarantee you that the NFL would have done it in primetime anyway.  The stadium itself is a big deal and the Bills are a marque team with or without a new stadium.  You couple them together and it just screams primetime.

While I would love for it to be Week 1, I would not be surprised in the least if the NFL wants to save it until Week 2.  Week 1 promotes itself.  The stadium unveiling would be a great spectacle to promote for Week 2.  It would also probably let them get more video and production put together as well.  But we'll see.  Either way, it is going to be an awesome event.

Josh Allen has done so much for this franchise it’s ridiculous.

I would rather the first game in the new stadium be against the Jets. That would almost guarantee the first game there is a Bills win.

The first regular season game at the "new" Rich Stadium in 1973 was against the Jets in Week 3.

This blows.   Both the red vs blue and opener will be at night.  I really wanted to get a feel for the sun/shadows for a 1p game

Watch a home Tottenham match between now and the end of the season.  It will be fairly similar.

Yup.....just 1 more thing to accomplish.  Once he does it, he will go down as the greatest Bill of all time.  He is already perhaps the "Most Important" and "Most Influential" and adding the Lombardi will make him the undisputed GOAT.

The NFL also gives a lot of fringe benefits to teams when they get new stadiums so scheduling requests will be easy to accommodate.

Apparently you didn’t get the memo about what a basic, soulless hellhole this new stadium is.

A plastic and neon box, I tell ya!

I know, I just won't be going to any of them.  We are going to be selling a lot of the tickets for the first two seasons in an effort to try and recoup some of the PSL money while the demand is high.

Yes, it's better to wait to go yourself when the team isn't as good and demand for the tickets is lower.

I'm going to the Red vs Blue scrimmage and the home opener.  I wasn't going to miss those.  My sister is taking her family to a second game.  We are going to sell the rest.  This will probably be the highest demand season for tickets and we'd like to capitalize while we can.

10k a seat is no joke

You can play with this website you input a date and a time of day and it will simulate the shadows for you.  It doesn't really show the inside of the stadium yet, but you can extrapolate from what it does to the surrounding areas.  Basically, for a 1pm game in September the sun is pretty high in the sky so the shadows will be pretty much straight down for most of the game.  By 4pm they start to be more impactful.  Later in the year it's obviously more of an issue because the sun is lower in the sky to begin with and all the shadows are longer

Thanks boss.  From everything I've seen, our seats will be completely in the shade the entire game.  I'm honestly curious to see how the sun and shadows affects the players on the field.  Leave it to us to create a Dallas situation where players can't see downfield based upon the time of day

I don't think that's possible.  For the sun to be low enough in the sky for that to be an issue the stadium itself will be in the way.  Plus the field is now oriented N-S the way it's supposed to be. At worst, the sun will be the lowest for a 1pm game in late December when it would be over the South end zone at the start of the game.

This site will show you the sun position on a given day at a given time.  You can compare it to something like Soldier Field which is at a similar latitude, also has a N-S orientation, and has no specific sun issues.  Then you can put in Jerruh World and see that the orientation of the building is completely different and the setting sun is a specific problem there with the glass west facing wall of that stadium because the stadium is oriented SW-NE rather than N-S.  The setting sun aligns with the glass wall in a way that a N-S building will never have.  If Jerruh turned his building about 30 degrees when he built it it wouldn't be a problem there either, glass wall or no glass wall.

We end up using about half the tickets for our family.

Also, with the way they were selling PSLs in sets of 14, they have way more scalper issues than the few we sell.

I’ll be curious to see how they handle PSL with scalpers.   The fine print says that if they catch you sell a disproportionate amount of tickets, they cancel your PSL with no refund.
