Before anyone asks - no we probably can't afford him.

Im just throwing it out there but Schoen was in the room when Ed Oliver was drafted, and I’d be willing to give up Oliver plus a couple assets to make it work. I’m not in the trading Oliver camp but for Lawrence I would

It's an interesting thought. We'd have to do it as a post-6/1 trade to make it work with the cap this year and we'd end up saving $5.6M in 2027 cap space. But presumably as part of the trade you're making Lawrence the highest paid DT in NFL history so bare minimum $32M AAV. As it stands right now we are projected to be $32M over the cap in 2027. There's a lot of high base salaries we can convert next year to get under the cap but it would be tough to fit another monster contract in. Also we're probably looking at giving up two 1sts given our draft position every year and I remain firm that I would not give up two 1sts for any defensive player.

Highly unlikely but this is 100% a move I could get behind

Oh if we could make this work and not kill ourselves in draft capital... I would love that...  but I am thinking that without a 2 not sure what it would cost... our 1?

Yea I’m curious what Lawrence worth would be. Hes coming off a really down year for his standards but obviously in the past has been a monster.

I think my offer would be Oliver, 2026 3rd round pick and 2027 2nd rounder. Not sure that’s good enough but that’s where I’d be at essentially it’s 2 3rd rounder picks and whatever you value Oliver at which is probably a 3rd haha

Someone I’m close to knows him well.

We don’t want him. I don’t want to say why. But if certain things came to light…not good.

I want this done, but not at the cost of Oliver. No point making a hole in the unit you are trying to add to.

Trade away one of our many extra OL. I'm sure Schoen likes a couple of those guys. and Giants could use OL help.

SVPG, one of the OTs, and a pick. Git r dun.

That's an enigma of an answer...wrapped in a riddle. 😁
