Have you seen our Outside WR play the last few seasons?  Quick- name a worse WR room in the NFL?  Beane has ignored and misfired WR room so bad, that if we use the first two picks to land quality WRs, it’s long overdue

Exactly the type of hyperbolic thinking that I was referring to with "such a TBD pick". Off the top of my head, Titans, Browns, Raiders, and even Jets all have worse rooms if you look at the entire room and not just comparing #1 to #1. You'll want to argue and debate that, but it's a purely subjective topic, and not good logic for building a team.

I can see going DE back to back (even tho Basham was horrible), because you need multiple trench players every play and they make a difference every play. Using the 1st and 2nd on guys who may only touch the ball 5-10 times a game is a waste. That's simple math.

I'm still for adding a WR (or multiples) to come in and compete, but our 1st round pick MUST be an immediate impact player, and coming in as the 4th best target aint it.

I just don’t see any game changing LB’s in CJ Allen or Anthony Hill who are usually mocked round 1. I actually prefer Golday, Trotter and Rodriguez who are usually going 2nd round.

I actually disagree that LB is a huge need. I think we are ok there and have much greater needs but I do absolutely agree with you that LB in round 1 is not good value.

Agreed.

I don't see much difference between the ILBs that I've watched so far.

It seems like as long as the Bills position themselves to draft one of the top 4-5 guys they shouldn't be picking one at 26.

One other thing I would note: if Beane is really open to WR in the first round (which my guess would be that he is), I think Omar Cooper will definitely be on his radar. Isn't necessarily my choice but based on the WRs that he's shown interest in in the past, he feels like a likely target to me.

I’ve read he’s had maturity questions - even directly mentioned by Cignetti. Do you have any reservations about this, after what has transpired with Keon and Diggs?

If the team thinks that's true, then yeah it would be concerning for sure. I do wonder how detrimental Cignetti thinks it actually is given how productive he was.

He also said in the same interview (before the 2025 season) that he was a great kid and a quick learner. I think the maturity was more a "if you want to be the best you gotta earn it" type comment rather than a "he is so immature it is a problem" type comment. He also said talent wise one of the best he has had in 44 years. So there is that.

Yea I don't think he said it in a detrimental way... I think it was a "if you want to make the absolute most out of your talent" way.

I think Allen is such a high floor. He is to me ready to step on a pro-field on day 1 with the green dot and call your defense. He can be a 7/10 player game in and game out as a rookie. I don't think the ceiling is super high - agree I wouldn't necessarily say "game changer" but that is what makes him different to the other guys listed IMO.

Golday is my next guy and I do think he is super high ceiling. He is a top 20 player in the class for me. I think he is raw, but the physical traits, the speed, the size and I think his tape is pretty good. I sort of see the Hill love but his tape is so inconsistent - especially in coverage - and he misses a ton of tackles. Rodriguez I do like but I think he is a will rather than a mike. He has some Milano about him, I'd just be leery of taking him as early as I think he will go given positional value and Trotter is a late day two guy at best IMO.

I'll tell ya... I joked about this pick being a classic TBD/fan pick, but after looking at the list of our Top 30 visits, it seems a WR at 26 is more likely than CJ Allen. We havent met once with Allen in any fashion. Not sure what the precedent is and if we've picked someone we didnt meet with at all. Did we meet with Kincaid?

Ok, I did some searching and found some posts and threads from a year ago. Thanks to @Sierra Foothills, here is a list of our 2025 meetings.

No Max Hairston. Although it's possible they met and it wasnt reported in the media?

We did meet with Landon Jackson, Dorian Strong TJ Sanders, and Deone Walker. So seems these meetings are more for the mid/later rounds than our 1st pick.

I believe the 2024 list looked similar as well.
