BILLS55 Posted April 2 Posted April 2 (edited) James is never in the conversation as on of the top running backs going into 2026. I don't think there is a clear stud running back in the league right now but for me James is in the top 3. Who would you put above him? Edited April 2 by BILLS55 1 2 1 3 Quote
Thrivefourfive Posted April 2 Posted April 2 Josh is always top dog. Everything that happens positively for this offensive goes through Josh, media wise. Cook has little presence outside of OBD. All fine by me. I’m glad I was right when calling for Beane to sign that man. 4 Quote
BigAl2526 Posted April 2 Posted April 2 I'm OK with that. Too many accolades and we might start hearing demands for a renegotiation of his latest deal. 3 1 Quote

I like Cook as much as the next guy, but let's not pretend players the likes of Bijan, JT, Gibbs, CMC, Saquon or Achane wouldn't have similar results behind what is a very good Buffalo O-line. Cook gets plenty of respect which is why he got the contract he received and which btw he got BEFORE his breakout last season. Plenty here were ready to let him walk without hesitation when they heard his contract demands. Remember, he was barely over a 1k rusher the previous seasons before last. 2 Quote
Ethan in Cleveland Posted April 2 Posted April 2 LOL. He didn't even get respect from Beane nor half of this board. Go back and check the tape. Half this board didn't want to sign him to an extension. To be fair, the issue is he is not the best at any one thing except perhaps elusiveness/vision in the hole. He is not as big and strong as Henry or Taylor, not as fast and powerful as Robinson or Barkley, and not as good out of the backfield as McCaffrey. However he is a more complete back that any of those guys. He does almost everything extremely well. Now he needs clean up the fumbles. He fixed his drops issue and now he just needs to take care of the football better. 5 2 1 2 Quote

There are plenty of things he does not to well, and in some cases, is not good at it. 1 2 Quote
Victory Formation Posted April 3 Posted April 3 Cook has transcended from being a very good RB into an elite RB.. He's the best player on the roster not named Josh Allen.. 6 3 Quote

extrahammer Posted April 3 Posted April 3 (edited) He's also consistently one of the healthiest guys on the team. After last year, I feel that's important. Edited April 3 by extrahammer 6 3 Quote

It takes a lot for a RB to overcome their draft evaluation in the eyes of fans and the talking heads. 1 1 1 Quote
Don Otreply Posted April 3 Posted April 3 Well he is a dammed good asset, and has performed at a high level, maybe it’s because he’s short, has dreads, and looks like he is stoned a fair bit of the time, outside of that, I got nothing, lol 1 1 1 Quote
mikemac2001 Posted April 3 Posted April 3 He’s the perfect back for this team. He benefits from Josh and the oline but he is a playmaker and can use those wholes and defensive schemes to his advantage. Runs tougher than his size. Drops and fumbles could be better but wasn’t the worst last year. 3 Quote

MDH Posted April 3 Posted April 3 He’s not top 3. Backs who teams trust to stay on the field for all 3 downs and have the receiving numbers to go along with the rushing stats are the top tier guys. Cook is a tier 2 back, and that’s fine. Nobody is game planning to stop Cook specifically. They game plan to stop the Bills’ dominant run game but Cook himself does nothing special where they have to account for him on every play…unlike guys like Bjion, Gibbs, McCaffrey and Barkley. Those guys are a headache. All that said, I’d rather have Cook for a 2nd round pick and his modest contract than those guys drafted in the high first with their bigger deals (or soon to be bigger deals.) 2 1 1 Quote
Buffalo716 Posted April 3 Posted April 3 (edited) Probably because every starter next to Josh has put up 4.5 yards per carry Singletary was 5.1 , 4.4, 4.6, 4.6 Obviously cook is much better and more explosive but playing next to Josh does help He also started fumbling late in the season which was not ideal Edited April 3 by Buffalo716 1 Quote

MPL Posted April 3 Posted April 3 Because he dropped those 2 easy touchdown passes that one year. Quote
