Captain Hindsight Posted April 10 Posted April 10 My moment has arrived. With the 84th Pick in the TBD Mock Draft, The Green Bay Packers select Deontae Lawson, LB, Alabama Packers look to add more talent to their defense. Lawson is an accomplished player and adds immediate depth to the Packers Defense @RyanC883 and the Pittsburgh Steelers are on the clock 2 minutes ago, Virgil said: What’s the spreadsheet say? The draft room had a lively debate about adding a RB here, but ultimately felt they could fill the need later. The packers only have 90 career carries behind Josh Jacobs 3 Quote

It’s been a decent guide I’ll float Bryce Lance for pick 91 to be included in the pole. Guy reminds me a bit of Alec Pierce skill set. Very surprised he is still here and we have a glaring need at the position. Very glad he fell into our laps. Tennessee Titans @TOboy are on the clock. It was announced today that Simpson has committed to being in the Green Room at the draft. He could go in the first or he could wait a fairly long time before he's picked so it's an interesting decision on his part. Also interesting is that the virtually guaranteed first pick, Fernando Mendoza has said that he will not be at the draft. A tale of two QBs... Quote

This is just my opinion but I think Arizona and Dallas are going to work out a trade where Arizona ends up with both of their first rounders with the Cardinals sending some other capital the other way 1 Quote
RyanC883 Posted April 10 Posted April 10 (edited) With the 85th pick, the Pittsburgh Steelers select Garrett Nussmeier, QB, LSU. The Steelers are happy to grab a QB who was thought of in the preseason as a Rd. 1 pick in the 3rd round. Nussmeier had an injury plagued 2025, but was seen as a Rd. 1 guy after 2024. He has extremely high football IQ and great accuracy. While his mobility is not great, the Steelers are somewhat used to that with Rodgers. This gives the Steelers Rodgers insurance if he does not return, and someone to compete with Will Howard for the backup role. We also considered another OL or drafting a DT here, but the draft seems deep at those positions still. The Los Angeles Chargers and @Hermes are on the clock. 4 hours ago, EmotionallyUnstable said: I’ll float Bryce Lance for pick 91 to be included in the pole. GunnerBill Posted April 10 Posted April 10 @Virgil had a quick look at my board as we come close to #91 in case it's helpful.... my top 15 remaining would be: 1. Keionte Scott, CB, Miami 2. Justin Joly, TE, NC State 3. Mike Washington, RB, Arkansas 4. Jalon Kilgore, S, South Carolina 5. Caleb Tiernan, OT, Northwestern 6. Zachariah Branch, WR, Georgia 7. Tanner Koziol, TE, Houston 8. Ja'Kobi Lane, WR, USC 9. Max Klare, TE, Ohio State 10. Bryce Lance, WR, North Dakota State 11. Kyle Louis, LB, Pittsburgh 12. Demond Claiborne, RB, Wake Forest 13. Darrell Jackson Jr, DT, Florida State 14. Jaishawn Barham, EDGE, Michigan 15. Zakee Wheatley, S, Penn State 4 Quote

Cowboys have been uber aggressive trying to fix their defense and still need another pass rusher, and the Cardinals want an OL . Going to 12 allows them to get one at a lot better value for that and then at 20 you take Simpson to be your QB of the future. Or the other way around. I said this somewhere else on the board but I expect a huge run on OL starting possibly at 9 all the way through the first round. Once that sucker starts I think teams will be trading up to make sure they secure a guy before they run out 3 Quote

In a weaker draft I feel like people’s draft boards are going to be kind of specific to what guy they like and they will maneuver to grab those guys. Im terms of the Bills, I think they need to grab some linemen somewhere. They could potentially find themselves needing 2 starting guards and maybe even a LT next off season. With how the board is right now, I might think about the Northwestern tackle. Otherwise it’s one of the DBs, Barham or Jackson. 1 Quote
Virgil Posted April 10 Author Posted April 10 Good morning everyone. We are in the home stretch it seems. @Hermes has until 11a to make his pick, then we have: 86 - San Diego Chargers @Hermes 87 - Miami Dolphins @H2o 88 - Jacksonville Jaguars @Virgil 89 - Chicago Bears @MrEpsYtown 90 - Miami Dolphins @H2o Then we have the Bills poll. I think we'll be able to finish the full 3 rounds before the weekend is over. I'm going to start the 2.0 thread on Saturday night, with hopes that we start on Sunday night. That will only be two rounds. I'll also be launching a Bills poll at the start to see if people want to trade up. If not, the poll for the Bills pick will be a player or trade back. 3 3 Quote
Hermes Posted April 10 Posted April 10 With the 86th overall pick the LA Chargers select Caleb Tiernan, OT, Northwestern. We get a chance to shore up the OL and add a guy who can get on the field for us at guard and potentially fill in at tackle for injury or otherwise. The Chargers are thrilled with these first 3 picks as it sets our team up to control the game on both sides of the ball. @H2o and the sea dwelling mammals are on the clock 2 Quote

HappyDays Posted April 10 Posted April 10 1 hour ago, No_Matter_What said: Talk about board not meeting need lol I think Keionte Scott fits our new aggressive defense but I doubt the board votes for a CB, even a slot. Also highly doubt he makes it to our pick in the real draft in any case. If Scott wasn't there my pick would be Barham. He has elite athletic traits and an elite motor, but needs a lot of technical work. I'll always bet on uncoachable traits with coachable weaknesses. To me he's the ideal of the type of front 7 player we should be looking for in this draft - bendy, explosive, capable of playing the field OLB in Leonhard's defense. With Barham it's more of a projection but I think the upside is worth the swing at this point, especially considering how underwhelming the other options are. 2 1 Quote

ILB, Subpackage Edge, and Teams Reiger was just off the bottom of my top 15 that I posted so I can see the argument there too. And if someone wanted to add him to the poll for #91 would certainly make sense. The other thing that always happens a bit in these (inevitably) is people spend a lot of time looking at prospects in the Bills' positions of need so when we then come to one of these exercises those positions go early and often because people are familiar with those prospects. I think the board might have slightly overdrafted DT compared to how I think it will go in the actual draft... I think 2 or 3 of the guys who have gone may well still be here at that position.... but actually a world where all the true ILBs have gone, the remaining receiver choices are something like Branch, Lance and Lane and the edge options are something like Reiger and Barham is very believable to me.
