The real question is will Beane go against his history and actually invest in the WR position, or does he do what he usually does and draft defenders. I think he goes defense.

I was just challenging your post that he won’t use a consequential pick on WR. His actions right now, say that he’s very focused on the top of the WR class. He is not showing the same attention to the top of the defensive class. What are you seeing that says he isn’t focused on WR with a consequential pick? Right now, it has to be the betting favorite at 26 based on visits.

If one is just going to presume that Beane will continue his normal proclivites towards the WR position, it seems whoever comes in for a visit is immaterial. Most of the first round grade (inclusive of late first/early second) are WR. One asserts Beane won't draft one, the facts don't matter. The non-WR visits are almost all day 2 or later considerations. Again, the presumption argues, this means Beane is trading down.

 

That may turn out to be true or Brady as the head coach, Josh Allen turning 30, the new stadium, an actual objective analysis of the WR room, any number of factors might portend a change.

I would like this draft and Miller is pretty spot on. The biggest thing is they need those first 5 picks to develop into quality starters ala 2022. That is asking a bunch but that is also the current need to truly keep cultivating a new corp especially on the defense. If Cooper develops the Bills in one off season could go from a bottom five WR unit to a potential top 10 catching unit.

Not bad I'm just fearful that there will be a run within 8 spots of guys I'm starting to really lean towards. That jump up in round 3 is awful nice though. Could be the difference between a career 2nd wave guy or a true starter.

Cooper is a home run BPA selection with the way that 1st rd fell too.

Would absolutely be ok standing put and taking him if they have same conviction as I do... the return on trade down wont be anything crazy, but gives us an extra pick. Could probably have a chance at Bryce Lance early 2nd too if Bell is yanked off the pile

You need two to tango.  Not sure a team will want to move up to late first for someone they can probably get in the early second.

 

In a perfect world they might, but probably not for this class.

He ran a relatively strong 40, but is not the burner / route winner we're lacking opposite DJ.

 

Check out his scouting report ... Deebo isn't a great comp because he's about 15lbs lighter and doesn't run like a running back, despite the strong YAC.

 

Personally, I think adding a speedster would make spacing a nightmare for defenses. If you open up the deep middle, it allows DJ to eat at all 3 levels and Shakir/Knox/Kincaid to do what they do best in the short/intermediate. That is the skill set we're missing, not a YAC monster who's hard to bring down.

Bryce Lance has this in spades. Will NOT be there by our 3rd rder. Im 50/50 he'll be there at our first rounder still.

 

I dont think its a certainty but I would not at all be surprised if he gets grabbed wayyyy earlier than anyone expects

Agreed, but remember a short trade down is probably goung to resemble our Keon trade down.

-see if guys are trending up or down based on combine/pro day/gm's + scouts doing some talking

I would be pretty happy with this draft. My only nit pick is that the Bills would probably go with a tackle over a guard for a mid-round O-line prospect. With Corbett in competition with Anderson I think they probably would want to try to develop a swing tackle behind Grable with the departure of RVD.

TOP COLUMN IS 2026, SO HE TOOK MOST SNAPS (83%, 90%)  OUTWIDE HIS FIRST 2 YEARS.... AND THEY WERE FROM A SOLID 15-16YD'S ADOT

 

 

HAD DECENT GRADES THOSE YEARS AS WELL

 

EFFICIENT THIS ENTIRE SEASON- more so than any other season... will teams see that as the normal curve of a player, or do they see a guy who only became efficient once he hit the slot?  Rec% went up 20points:

I do a 7 rounder every year for myself. I realize that the chances of getting picks late are literally zero as I usually only get like 8-12 right in round 1 haha. I agree it’s more about fitting need and value.

 

It also gives you a bigger picture of damn I had this guy falling way further than I should and could it happen in the real thing?

 

It’s easy just to place an arbitrary grade on someone or run a simulator with someone else’s grades attached to it and say here’s my 7 rounder based off of that. 
 

It’s another thing to use your own brain and map out 255 picks and see where it falls. 
 

I’m in the 6th round of mine so far. I had the Bills making two trade downs, first with the Chiefs and then with the Giants to 37.
