I saw it on the innernet.

Been posited that the Eagles could trade Brown for a 1st round pick then package it with two of their own for Garrett.

Are the Bills one defensive player away from a Super Bowl championship?

If the answer is yes, trade five first round picks for him (I know you can’t do that) for all I care.

NOPE!

That's just it!

Draft Capital: Expected to be at least two first-round picks, or a combination similar to the 2018 Khalil Mack trade (two firsts, plus mid-round picks). Some speculation suggests the Browns could seek up to three first-round picks.

Contract Responsibility: In a 2026 trade, the acquiring team would take on the full $32.5 million in cash owed to Garrett.

Salary Cap Impact: The acquiring team would have a relatively manageable ~$9.14M cap hit in 2026.

Browns' Position: The Browns modified his contract on March 25, 2026, to allow for a trade, pushing back option bonuses to seven days before the regular season. However, this modification also makes a trade possible if they decide to move the superstar.

This would be wild. The most talented team in football gets the best defensive player in the game. It sounds like random internet chatter but I hope that doesn’t happen.

Fair.

However, if I was Beane id lobby for a few extra $M a year to spend on scouting & position coaches over those years. Do something to offset that cost

I tried checking Spotrac but its not updated

I read a couple of the discussions on line, and it's clear the deal is done. Commentators all seem to say that the only real consequence of the restructure is that the Browns now have many more teams that might want to trade for Garrett, because the Browns added dead gap, and by doing that they substantially reduced the cap hit to any trade partner.

I would trade 3 firsts in the wink of an eye and offer two reasons:

1.  Garrett is a rare, rare talent.  His talent as his position is comparable to Josh’s at his.  You simply don’t get access to someone with his ability very often.

2.  Beane has shown he finds talent on day 2 and 3 of the draft.  He can continue to fill spots even without a # 1 pick in those years.

If Garrett was that worried about winning, and the Browns were worried about more than just saving face, then he would have been moved last year. The fact they made him the highest paid DE in the NFL at the time, and the fact that he signed it after saying he was done, they deserve to live in misery together until the end of Garrett's days (as an NFL player).

Man I would love to see Garrett in a Bills uniform and he could/might be that piece that finally put us over the top. But it is such a steep price to pay if it doesn't come down a bit. Most teams have been picking ahead of us and likely still will the next couple of years. So, if the Browns want three firsts from say a team generally picking 10-15 range (approx. 3,600 points), they would want extra from the Bills who have been picking in the 23-30 range (approx. 2,100 points). That 1,500 point difference equates to the 7th pick in the first round (another high first rounder basically). I don't know, at his age and the luck we have had with signing older pass rushers, I think I'd be too nervous to actually pull the trigger at that price tag. But as a GM, I would definitely stay in the loop with Cleveland just in case. He is a very tempting player.

Just FYI...a few things I looked up out of curiosity:

Over the last seven years, the Bills have averaged 13th place in sacks. And 6th place in turnovers created. But in 2025, it was a down year for both. The Bills were 20th in sacks and 16th in turnovers last season.

I know Leonard wasn't the DC in Denver (DBs, passing-game coordinator, asst. HC), but they were number one in sacks both in 2024 and 2025 (in turnovers they ranked 8th in 2024, and 26th in 2025).

I also realize that it is different systems, but the Broncos DBs only had 3 more sacks than our DBs last year. And our D-line actually had 5 more sacks than the Denver DL last season. BUT...the Broncos Linebackers had 29 more sacks than our LBs. Looks like the majority of the pressures in Denver's system comes from the backers.

The sack leaders for Denver last year were: OLB Nick Bonitto (2 yrs ProBowler) with 14, OLB Jonathan Cooper with 8, DE John Franklin-Meyers with 7.5, and DT (PB, All-Pro) Zach Allen with 7. Thirteen other players had at least one sack each.

Just spit-balling, but I think Oliver is capable of the 7 sacks from the DT position (Ed had 9.5 sacks 3 years ago), Groot is capable of the 7.5 sacks from the DE position (he's had 3 seasons of 7+ sacks), Chubb had 11 sacks the year before the ACL (8.5 last year)---so for now, I am going to put him in the Cooper role of 8 sacks from OLB (maybe he'll do much better two years removed now from the injury, but we'll see...he's also older too). And our other OLB currently is Dorian Williams. I have no idea how he fits in Leonard's system. He has no sacks in his career (granted with limited playing time). So, it would seem to me that OLB is a strong candidate for first round draft pick.

If we were to get Garrett, would you put him at OLB, or keep him at DE?

One other thing I am interested to see is how Terrel Bernard plays in Leonard's system. I know a lot of folks are down on him right now, but I think we might see a bit of a resurgence from him. Remember his first year as a starter, he was a playmaker (6.5 sacks, 5 PDs, 3 INTs, 3 FRs, 10 TFLs, 9 QB hits, 143 tackles).

I don't think they're the most talented team in football

It ebbs and flows so fast.. they were a couple years ago but last year they did not look like the most talented team in the NFL

And you are how you play so as of right now I think they lost that designation

Not to mention their two best players have tons of miles in saquan and AJ Brown who they want to trade

If they land myles Garrett that might bring them back to the most talent, regardless of trading AJ because they're not even on the same stratosphere

Not named Josh Allen, what 3 (1's) are currently on out team that have a combined worth equivalent to Myles?

The thing about the draft, is that you still have rounds 2-7.  I think often times, we feel like if we don't have a 1, we're forfeiting the entire draft class, which is far from the case.

Why can't we still hit on a WR in like the 3rd?

Or better yet, the 1st this year, since the trade would likely be post June 1.

Like most teams that are tanking, the Browns might be trying to load up for 2027, if that's the reason for the restructure.

The other thing that I wonder, that isn't talked about, is whether or not the Browns said to Myles look...........the timing to trade you now isn't good for us.  What if we give you this boatload of money, and if you still don't like the direction of the team, we can revisit next year.

He was so adamant about leaving, and I know people will say that money alone shut him up, which could very well be true, but he was going to get record breaking money, no matter who he played for.

Knowing our luck, trade for him and then stick him on the 6-game PED list.

…and then he tears his Achilles. That’s how we roll!

OK, we didn’t trade for Hoecht, but he was our shiny new toy giving us hope.

I chide myself for feeling the same way and assuming something bad would happen if we made that trade … whether he gets in trouble or he hurts himself while the ink is still dry on the contract!  Oh, the joys of being a Bills fan 😂

Only an elite franchise QB under 30 is worth that price.  This guy toiled away on a bad team and didn’t leave a dent—other than in the NFL record book.  They stunk with him.  They should have traded him before now.

Agreed not 3 rd1's , that was his price 3 years ago... hes got tread on the tires but not enough to justify that.

WHILE I DONT THINK ITS LIKELY AT ALL (LET ALONE US) IF YOURE BEANE,  YOU SEE THIS IS THE BROWNS AND JUMP IN THE MIX! DUMBEST FRONT OFFICE IN NFL.

MAYBE YOU CAN TRICK THEM LOL

4 - 5th Rders?

This years 1st, next year's 3rd, two 5ths lol

Just throw numbers at them until their stupid head spins 😆😆

Ill amend my post to this... 2026,amd 2027 1sts and thats it.

Btw... my last post amendment was in regards to WR help and trading for DJ Moore so...

That's the worst argument for this.  The Browns are a tire fire, it wouldn't look like that if he was on the Bills

Sending AJ Brown to Cleveland would be hilarious.
