gonzo1105 Posted March 27 Posted March 27 I’ll be honest I don’t know why Greg Rousseau isn’t brought up in discussions when it comes to elite pass rushers like Crosby or Garrett. Not sure how good a 3-4 fit Rousseau is and teams would love to save money, get a good young DE on a decent contract plus draft capital. I think I’d come back to the Raiders and say hey look we’ll give you 26, Rousseau , and a 3rd rounder to get this done. Garrett would probably be 26, 27 1st rounder, Rousseau, and another pick Quote

Sheesh... Hah! John McCargo in the first and Kyle Williams in the fifth is like Kair Elam in the first and Christian Benford in the fifth. 1 2 Quote

Then that should be the plan! We give (3) 1sts, we get Miles and their (3) 5ths! Keeps us in bean's power band, keeps the same number of picks plus Miles 😁 1 1 Quote
May Day 10 Posted March 27 Posted March 27 Not sure Mahomes wins those Superbowls without Jones 1 3 2 Quote
Magox Posted March 27 Posted March 27 We trade 2026 1st, 2027 1st, Greg Rousseau We get Myles Garrett and a 2026 3rd I think I would do that. 1 1 Quote

Especially in the playoffs. Their OLine was a shambles especially in the Super Bowl and like us, there’s a definite need of an upgrade at the WR position. They’d be best suited to use those picks for a premier #1 guy for Maye. Hopefully they don’t lol Quote

DapperCam Posted March 27 Posted March 27 Does he fit our new scheme? We’d probably have to stick with a 4-3 right? Quote
Kirby Jackson Posted March 27 Posted March 27 It’s an easy yes for me. Myles Garrett and Josh Allen are the two best players in football IMO. If you have a chance to trade 3 late firsts for what will amount to championships, done. 3 5 1 Quote
Dillenger4 Posted March 27 Posted March 27 This is all... chicken fodder. In other words, it's not happening. But since we are playing the Funsy game - what's better? Garret for 2 firsts or JJ for 2 firsts??? 1 Quote
Rocky Landing Posted March 27 Posted March 27 It would require the kind of deal that the Browns make. 1 Quote

He’s the player in the NFL that I would trade the most for if I were the Bills. 3 Quote
Don Otreply Posted March 27 Posted March 27 I saw this the other day on you tube, I think it was a Bills content guy, Dan Mitchell, he was chatting this up, it would cost a lot, but boy O boy it would enhance our defense to say the least, it sure would be fun to watch our D especially on 3rd and fourth downs… Quote

On top of that, the deal looks backloaded like crazy with a huge amount of cash. So when the deal gets to those years, you don't have 1 first round picks for several years in a row for cheap high end talent. Think about the last 3 firsts we had would u trade them for Garrett ? I know I sure would 1 Quote
transplantbillsfan Posted March 27 Posted March 27 Honestly if the owners passed the extension of draft trades to 5 years I would offer 3 1sts but not in consecutive years. See if they'll accept a 2026, 2028 and 2029 1st... or something similar. That at least gives Buffalo a chance to restock the cupboards a little. Throw in a 3rd or 4th rounder in the off year to sweeten the deal. Yes I would do that for Garrett. Quote
Ecmic82 Posted March 27 Posted March 27 At some point, the expected value of first round picks will become further and further unaligned with Josh’s prime, which SHOULD diminish the pick’s subjective value to the Bills. Where is that point? I think it’s getting close. 1 Quote
NastyNateSoldiers Posted March 27 Posted March 27 The Rams went almost 7 yrs without a first rd pk and they got a Superbowl out of it. I'll take that deal no doubt about it 1 4 Quote
K-9 Posted March 27 Posted March 27 The objection to the high price to acquire Myles Garrett is reminiscent of the naysayers who had the same short-sighted opinions when we made the trade for Bennett in ‘87. Two firsts and a second was way too high a price and would set us back they said. Well, Myles Garrett is better than Biscuit ever was and that’s saying something. I make this deal every day of the week and twice on Sundays. Quote
GunnerBill Posted March 27 Posted March 27 2 hours ago, DJB said: Look I love Garrett, he’s a franchise DE a total stud and I’d love to bring him here But I also want to see what our scheme change does to our pass rush. To me for years I’ve pointed out that it’s not just a coincidence that once guys came to the McDermott D they didn’t put up numbers or when they left they had success. I preached about how our scheme was not conducive to generating sacks and pressures Let’s see what Leonard can get out of this group. I think many will be surprised The Bills generally didn't do too bad for pressure generation under McDermott (they were rarely elite but they were mainly pretty good) but they had a real problem converting to sacks. Some of that was scheme - even when you are getting pressure the Frazier and McDermott defense doesn't want you gambling for the sack and allowing someone to escape - it would prefer you to just keep pushing and hem them in to try and force an errant throw, but some of it was talent too. We have really lacked for finishers except that first half of 2022 before Von got hurt. Worth saying the McDermott coordinated year was one of their better ones in terms of pressure and their best in terms of sacks. However, that came at a cost as a lot of the other fundamentals of the defense struggled. Year Pressure Rate Rank Sack Rank 2025 11th 20th 2024 10th 18th 2023 6th 4th 2022 14th 14th 2021 1st 11th 2020 23rd 15th 2019 17th 12th 2018 5th 26th 2017 14th 29th 1 Quote
