It wouldn't surprise me if he does the same thing Bill Cowher did. Get into broadcasting and never return to coaching. Get paid millions to watch and talk about football. Don't have to deal with stress of coaching. Plus, you get to enjoy the offseason to do other things.

Why wouldn't he?  Probably get paid as much, if not more, without the crazy work hours.

My guess is FOX. Bradshaw should really step down and so should Johnson. I wouldn't be surprised if FOX replaces either one of them or maybe both.

Agreed with respect to Bradshaw. He's more than a couple years past when he should have been sent packing. I liked him for a long time but he hasnbeen on fumes for some time now.. Jimmy Johnson has retired

The guys on these NFL shows who aren't so filtered can be interesting and entertaining.  The guys like Dungy who try to maintain good relationships with all the coaches and players are boring.  Maybe that's why Dungy was axed.

With some of the ridiculous things he's said over the years he might turn out to be pretty good.

He will be great in broadcasting.  I live down here in the Pittsburgh area, so have been able to hear more of his weekly sessions with the media than most.  Besides the sound bites that hit the national airwaves, he always seemed to have smooth media pressers offering up different insights on the football operation.  Even in the face of mediocre football results.

He has the potential to be good but these guys always get moulded into the same guy. That's why Romo used to be great and is now annoying AF. Tomlin will be interesting for a few weeks, then he'll offend someone sensitive and get told to tone it down.

I feel like "ridiculous" is too derogatory a term for some of the great quotes he's produced. Agreed he would be great on air.

Pair him with Jamies Winston on the boring games.

Miami @ Minnesota?

Jets @ Cardinals?

Oh, whoever that broad is they keep forcing on us - put her there too. She gets so easily befuddled. Beth mowins maybe?

Not shocking he was with the Steelers for so long that's a big grind to do without any sort of break. Cowher had a shorter but still long run and he never went back despite rumored heavy interest from several teams in the late 00's and early 10's.

WFAN's Boomer Esiason who worked with Cowher for a long time on the CBS pre/post-game show kept telling everybody he is not coming back. The rumors were 100% BS. Boomer and Bill are good friends, so Boomer knew all the time that Cowher was done with coaching.

These two things could be both true. It could be that teams were putting out heavy offers to try to get Cower to come back to coaching and that Cower really had no interest in coming back.

Ugh, it’s like he’s the old guy that just wants to hangs around, a shell of what he use to be, contributes nothing, but no one wants to be the bad guy to tell him go home.
