machine gun kelly Posted March 20 Posted March 20 I really think with this Edge deep draft, we’ll choose that first and probably a speed WR in the 3rd. I’m good with bundling lower picks for either or both 1st ad. 3rd. I also believe Beane may just truly go BOA after these two picks. Quote
Free Speech Posted March 20 Posted March 20 In the current climate Beane would get flamed even if he drafted Jerry Rice. That said, I think the draft is going to be boring - interior OL and DL, LB, S. All things we need, just not much WOW factor. 1 Quote

I’ve spoke at length about the 26 and 27 classes for almost 2 years It's a poor class in general. This is the first class in years that I don't have a draft crush, nothing really excites me. Do we want a WR who might be capped at WR2, an undersized edge rusher, or a non-premium position like LB or safety? Out of those options I'll take the WR2. All I will say is that if Beane doesn't take a WR then he better really nail the pick. BPA is nice in theory but if the player you pick never turns out to be the actual best player that was available, that argument falls flat. 2 Quote

We both know Beane is not going BPA despite him saying he will. It doesn’t happen . He’s going to take the best player at the biggest position of need it’s what he’s shown in the past . I would agree it’s a weaker class overall and unfortunately for Buffalo we sit at 26 and there are maybe 14 first rounders in this class . Will we get lucky and one falls ? Maybe but otherwise he needs to trade back to accrue draft capital because I doubt the value is there Im normally a proponent of trading up to get your guy but not with this class I’m not . I also don’t really have any draft crushes like I have in the past Edited March 20 by DJB Quote

Beane likes to get back picks that he lost in trade, like last year he made it a point to get his 3rd rounder back. So I think there's a good chance he will trade back into the 2nd. It all depends on who is willing to come up. If Ty Simpson is still on the board that's our best chance. Quote

Moving to the 32-45 range or so seems like the spot. Not sure the compensation we would get that’s not my forte but I’m guessing a 2 or a 3+? Quote

Nihilarian Posted March 20 Posted March 20 I'm really hoping for defense simply because we don't know what we have in this new scheme. Still need a top CB unless they sign Tre White. Still need a LBer unless they sign Matt Milano, Shaq Thompson—still so many unsigned Bills free agents, like Brandin Cooks, Phillips, and Poyer. The Bend but don't break defense is gone in favor of an attacking style, so help the new guy build the defense he needs his way. The Buffalo offense is already top five with what they had, and TJ Moore should help open up that outside from that second-round pick. 2 Quote

We give them #26 and #91, in exchange we get back #34, #65, and #143. That would give us the second pick of round 2, the first pick of round 3, and still four picks in rounds 4-5 to fill out depth. If we trade back and then take a LB or undersized pass rusher I'm fine with that. 2 Quote
ColoradoBills Posted March 20 Posted March 20 Las Vegas at #36 or Tennessee at #35 may want to get back into the 1st round. Both have picks to do it. Quote

My 2nd 🔥🔥🔥🔥 take of the day is that Simpson is more likely to go in the 3rd than in the first. I don’t think anyone will be willing to pass on the 2027 QB class to take Ty Simpson. If you take him in the 1st you ALMOST definitely pass on QB in 2028. There could be a Kyler Murray / Josh Rosen thing but I doubt it. If you take Simpson in round 2 you can probably swing in 2027 and after round 2, you definitely can. The nightmare scenario for QB needy teams is using a 1st on Simpson and he flashes. I’m not saying that he proves to be a franchise QB. He performs somewhere between Shadeur and Jaxson Dart. You end up thinking, “this guy could be our QB.” You then proceed to skip the elite 2027 QB class while learning that you have a young QB that isn’t the guy. Edited March 20 by Kirby Jackson 2 Quote
NoSaint Posted March 20 Posted March 20 I want a WR im prepping for 1, 3 to be edge and LB though I have a sneaking suspicion that we are expecting Moore-Shakir-Palmer with dalton/jimbo at least thought of in wr4 type discussions of getting your best weapons on the field brandin cooks I think genuinely is the break glass type of guy if something happens or they want to add Quote

BillyJoeBills Posted March 20 Posted March 20 At 26, draft the best available WR (Boston, Conception, Cooper) because we'll be leveraging Josh's all world skills. Can't understand why Keon can't take advantage catching passes from the best QB; if I was him, I'd be working my tail off night and day to work on my game especially since I realize I'm so lucky to be in the best situation. If my QB was Fields or Tua; maybe I'd do some R &R or travel around in the off season; damn, what's Keon doing in the off season, that's something I'd like to know. 1 Quote
PoundingDog Posted March 20 Posted March 20 1 hour ago, HappyDays said: or a non-premium position like LB or safety? Based on what you get. I refuse to believe a Ray Lewis or Ed Reed has less impact on a team than a Greg Rousseau (solid even good NFL starter) at edge, in today's NFL. Judging by what they have done so far in FA and the team roster, I have to believe drafting an ILB, one that they believe is capable to start sometime this year, will be high on their list. If the coaching staff believes Bernard, Williams, and Andreessen are good enough to last and play well for the whole 2026 season, then I'd seriously question their competence. Quote
