It's kind of the norm for what they drafted for a long time. High floor, low ceiling. They find their diamonds in the late rounds but no one has been a game in, game out, great player other than the two you mentioned. Yes, there are probably others but not anything that you would call game changers on defense. Edited March 18 by The Wiz 1 Quote
Búfalo Blanco Posted March 18 Posted March 18 Always liked him overall as a player, though he did have the occasional dumb penalty... Do others on the board believe he was worth the 54th pick in 2020? Just curious... Quote
RichRiderBills Posted March 18 Posted March 18 I liked AJ but he was a disappointment. Had some big plays but really regressed v the run and w his tackling. There were moments this year he was a disaster. Good luck to him. Quote
SCBills Posted March 18 Posted March 18 He was a one man wrecking crew in that London Jax game but too often disappeared and for every splash play he’d make, he’d be invisible for the next two games. Durable player and I liked him on this team. Not broken up about losing him though. 1 Quote
The Wiz Posted March 18 Posted March 18 (edited) As I've already stated previous, I don't think he's anything special outside of a game or 2 through each season BUT, if he is playing opposite Garrett then I would think he will be more effective/noticeable. Edited March 18 by The Wiz Quote

That’s would be the McDermott fog, it it was like the cloud that hung over pig pen in the Charley brown comics, it hung over our defensive line for years, 1 Quote
QB Bills Posted March 18 Posted March 18 Say goodbye to those triple teams, Garrett! And say hello to quadruple teams when this plug is opposite you. 4 1 1 Quote
Mikie2times Posted March 18 Posted March 18 Not a McD fan, but the line was elite at batting balls down. Created a ton of havoc over the years and AJ was one of the best at it. Good luck! 1 Quote
MrEpsYtown Posted March 18 Posted March 18 (edited) Was never a fan. Never liked the pick and never liked how they asked him to change everything he did well. Just a totally idiotic process. I wish him well. Edited March 18 by MrEpsYtown 2 1 Quote

skibum Posted March 18 Posted March 18 Ahh, that stinks. I always thought he was a good player most of the time, with occasional flashes of genius. Not a bad guy to have for a reasonable price, but such is business. 1 Quote

MJS Posted March 18 Posted March 18 It must be tough to go from wearing some of the best uniforms in the league to some of the worst. 2 Quote
Steptide Posted March 18 Posted March 18 Liked him as a person, but was really a non factor for the bills defense. Wasn't he a 2nd round pick? Never had a big impact for this team Quote

And it's a good thing because that Chauncey Gardner Whatever the rest of his name is was cancelling out our David Edwards pick. Now we should be back to a 5th for him. Quote
dave mcbride Posted March 18 Posted March 18 (edited) My take: he’s getting a 1-year $3 million contract (the $5 million happens if he makes the pro bowl and or gets 10 sacks or whatever, which I doubt happens). For his last Bills contract, he got 2 years/$12 million with $6.6 guaranteed. Basically, his NFL career is on the downward slope and he doesn’t have much time left. He made some splash plays this year as he always does, but he’s a very flawed player. He got backup rotational money. Edited March 18 by dave mcbride 2 1 Quote
