NoSaint Posted March 17 Posted March 17 I think he would’ve been impactful for us last year -as devoid of talent as the group was- but I always went back and forth on him as a long term investment and cornerstone player i think similar to doubs to New England, I don’t love seeing an opponent get better but also not sure it’s optimal allocation of resources. Especially after a contract is given we will see! 2 Quote
SCBills Posted March 17 Posted March 17 (edited) AJ Brown asking price is going to be absurd. Waddle to Denver, whatever. Bo Nix is their QB. Edited March 17 by SCBills 6 1 Quote

I know many wanted him here, but unless he was dogging it because he didn't want to play for Miami, he seemed to get injured on every other play.....don't need another Terrell Bernard. 1 2 Quote
Kirby Jackson Posted March 17 Posted March 17 Comp feels fair for both sides. I doubt that they would have worked with the Bills. Miami is going to be awful. I don’t think that this moves the needle for Denver either. In fact, I think it may help a WR (Tyson?) fall to the Bills. I think this probably makes 1 less WR drafted before 26 IMO. 12 6 1 Quote
MiltonWaddams Posted March 17 Posted March 17 Denver is still really good on the defensive side of the ball and now got a very good offensive weapon. They beat our boys last year and we can only hope that the improvements that the Bills made will be enough to overcome them this year. I like it when a division rival loses quality players, but we were well beyond them anyways this season. I think that OBD has something in their back pocket with the salary cap space that DJ Moore’s contract freed up yesterday. It will be interesting to see what comes of that in the coming days. 1 Quote
gonzo1105 Posted March 17 Posted March 17 If you go to the trade value the Broncos gave up 724 with the 1st and 3rd but gained a bit back with the pick swap so it’s right around giving up the 26th pick which is what they wanted at the deadline though different GM 4 Quote
KingBoots8 Posted March 17 Posted March 17 Respect to Beane for trying to get it done last season, but if it cost Denver that much it likely would have cost us more, and he’s just not worth that high of a price. DJ Moore trade looks better with each passing day. 12 10 3 Quote
mushypeaches Posted March 17 Posted March 17 Going to be interesting to see what Miami might be able to do with all that draft capital and possibly a competent GM for once 1 1 Quote

Sierra Foothills Posted March 17 Posted March 17 The rumor at the deadline was that the Bills offer of a 2027 1st rounder and 3rd rounder was the highest bid but that the Dolphins eventually got cold feet about trading within the division and chose not to deal him. There was another rumor that they were holding out for a 2026 first rounder. The price that Denver paid for him is consistent with that valuation. I like Waddle but don't love him. Besides 2 straight years of declining stats (sub 1000 yards), he's the ultimate finesse player. Denver needed a player like him though so it's a decent fit. 2 Quote
Aross3415 Posted March 17 Posted March 17 Are they hanging on to Sutton or is he available and would be a lot cheaper I would think… would be a great #2. 1 Quote

Not sure what's going on with Sutton or Franklin but Waddle gives them something that neither of those players do. Quote
sven233 Posted March 17 Posted March 17 (edited) Yeah...... I wanted Waddle. It's a lot to get him, but you have to pay for that position. Would have considered it, though, had we not traded for Moore already. If we didn't do the Moore trade and that trade is made today, I might be more upset that we didn't do it. We match that offer, though, and pay the in-division tax, there is a chance we don't get the 4th back with Waddle and we have no picks until the 5th round. No way Beane does that, and it's probably the right thing to do.... So, it is a 1 and a 3 with a 4th round pick swap. If all things were the same, and they still send the 4th back, I think I would have done that and then looked for other ways to maybe get a pick or 2 back in a different move. Giving up a 1 and a 3 in order to have a true WR1 to pair him with Moore would have been costly, but I think I would have done it. Sure, there are some cap things to figure out to make that happen, but there are levers that Beane did not pull to free up space out there and we could have fit it in if we wanted to. Negan Posted March 17 Posted March 17 How many wr's do they need in Denver? Seems oversaturated. 2 Quote
