You might be better KJ. He’s WAY better than Kyle Allen. I’m not saying that Fields is good but if he plays 4 weeks for the Chiefs they could be 2-2. If Kyle Allen plays 4 weeks for the Bills they’ll be lucky to win a game. To be clear, I’m not advocating for Fields. This to me is more, “why did the Bills rush to sign the 32nd best backup on week 1 of FA?” I would have much rather waited until the summer when the musical chairs stop and sign the best of what’s left (Jameis was my target). The only plausible answer is, “Josh wanted his buddy.” Maybe someone beats out Allen and he is just an expensive PS guy. I’m fine with that. I do care more about QB 2 than most. In my mind, when you’re good, QB 2 is way more important then when you are bad. I always look at it as a 4 game window. Playoff seeding and divisional races almost always come down to a game or 2. If your QB misses 4 games it matters if you’re 4-0, 3-1, 2-2, 1-3 or 0-4. With Kyle Allen I don’t think that they win 2 but that would be the ceiling for me. With some of those other guys, 3 wins is possible although 2 more realistic. Edited March 16 by Kirby Jackson 2 Quote

Early info on the trade seems to say the Jets kept $7M of Fields $10M guaranteed 2026 salary as well as his signing bonuses. It's not clear what other terms were part of the negotiation, but it wouldn't be a shock, if Fields really wants to go to KC, if he agreed to renegotiate his contract with KC so his base salary is lower or even give some of it back. 1 Quote
JakeFrommStateFarm Posted March 16 Posted March 16 Fields just conned Jets into a 40M dollar contract for 2 years. The young man has done well for himself Quote

SoonerBillsFan Posted March 16 Posted March 16 Well, we know they will suck for at least part of the season Quote
Mikie2times Posted March 16 Posted March 16 Wouldn't surprise me if Reid has a few packages built in for him. Quote

If he goes down for a long time, sure. What happens if he misses 3 or 4 starts? That’s where the focus should be because that happens way more often. Quote

BillyJoeBills Posted March 16 Posted March 16 Trade's going to be voided; Fields is going to fail the physical; team doctors will discover that the reason he can't read defenses is because he can't even read an eye chart Quote

They should’ve signed Flacco if they wanted a solid bridge QB until Mahomies return and they wouldn’t have to give up picks. 1 Quote
BillsShredder83 Posted March 16 Posted March 16 3 hours ago, Captain Hindsight said: I'm sorry, but Justin Fields is the worst QB I've ever seen play (besides Peterman) He offers no value or upside at this point in his career. I legit laughed when the Jets signed him last year. He is terrible. He had the 4th most passing yards in a GAME last year when Trubisky threw one pass. Comparing him to Alex Smith is disrespectful to Alex Smith. He has had more chances than any QB I can think of, with nothing to show for it. He had 5 games last year with under 55 yards passing. How he is going to get another opportunity is beyond me. I'm out on Fields, but in fairness, there was 0 chance he was going to workout for the Jets. These types of QBs barely work out, adding "the Jets", is a death blow. They're like the opposite of a QB whisperer. I can understand wanting some insurance, I think Mahomes is back by week 4. I could see Reid being able to squeeze a solid 4 weeks out of an elusive athlete like Fields. I'm not talking 4 - 0... but if the goal is to tread water, you might be able to gameplan enough with him to go 2-2 or 3-1, if everyone else performs well 🤷♂️. They'll have Walker to carry some load, and might add Sadiq. Fields + Sadiq could be fun for a few weeks before you roll out your real offense. Plus, Reid will have a full off-season to draw up a one month gameplan for this kid. Expensive insurance, but its adequate Quote

But we'd lose to Appalachian State if Kyle Allen has to start for us at any point. Hey! I live near them and their games are fun as hell!!! They're so insane and unpredictable that you'd almost think they're scripted. App State is right there with the Jayhawks as - the 'most fun 5 win team to watch ' in college ball the last 2 years Quote
