They are both sitting out there and we still obviously have the need in that area. Do either of these guys appear to fit in the new D? I would think vintage Milano would have, but maybe not anymore? As for Thompson,  love the physicality he brought, but again with his age not sure he's a fit. Just thinking that maybe one or both of these guys get signed to one year friendly cap deals while we make the transition? I fully expect a LB in the draft early, possibly in the first.

I couldn't help but think I wonder if Milano would take a 1 year cheap deal after all the money we have given him at the end of the year. I'm ok with either 1 signing another short term incentives style deal. I want to see Williams on the field more. I don't want any of the guys getting 100% of the snaps. I think we need to view this as having 3 starters at ILB this year.

Preferably neither, right? It feels like that position group needs a total overhaul, even if there are some growing pains.

I don't think we'll sign an ILB until after the draft. I think Anthony Hill Jr & CJ Allen are in play at #26. If we get one of them, we probably only add a cheap vet. If we go another direction in the first & draft a mid-round LB, Beane has Milano & Shaq in his back pocket.

I agree - I think LB in 1st round.

I'd like Shaq back - one year cheap deal would be good. He was a DOG for us last year.

I'd say pass rusher or WR in 1.  Then look at the other position in the 3rd.  I'd look to add ILB, DT/NT, S in the 3-4-5 range.

I don't think they're done in free agency either, I'd expect a NT, 3-4 end, and ILB signed - just not sure we bring back players recently released.  They'll need to get younger in the front 7 as right now between oliver rousseau hoecht and bernard its getting rather pricey.

3-4 End - Sanders, Oliver, Carter

NT - Walker, Logue

Edge - Rousseau, Chubb, Hoecht, Jackson/Solomon

ILB Bernard, Williams, Andreeson

CB Benford, Hairston

NB Alford, Hancock

S - CJGJ, Bishop

Milano's dead money is bad this year - normally that's not as big of an issue because you ideally replaced him with a rookie contract.  Dorian i guess counts, but i still feel like the team wants to upgrade there.

Walker is not a NT. Again, too tall to anchor. He's a penetrating DT with huge upside.

The amount of people that don't understand this is concerning. You will ruin a great prospect by putting him at NT.

Might be a bold take, but I think the Bills might role with the inside linebackers they currently have.

I think they are gonna see Dorian as a starter, and either Bernard or Andreesen as the 2nd.

Now I think they still will add a low level free agent and/or invest a draft pick in one, but I don't see a modest/ big investment coming at inside linebacker.

Could be wrong

Offer him a cheap deal.  Give him an incentive of extra $500k for every game he starts and another $100k if he finishes.

Kinda serious with this.

If they wanted Milano back they would have done it before his dead cap hit. Probably more likely than not Milano has played his last game and he will retire this summer.

Shaq looked good and I believe finished the year healthy. I would bring him back.

They wont be in a 3-4 all the time. I would hope they add a guy like DJ Reader to take some run situations NT snaps.

I actually wonder if Milano would play for another team. With any other player I realize the stupidity of that statement, but with just the way he is I wonder if he told Beane he'd play for the Bills at X price and is waiting to see if Beane can find anyone he'd like more for cheaper.

Kinda serious with this.

Thompson had a much bigger impact than Milano. Multiple game changing plays and cheap. I’m not sure how he would fit in Leonard’s defense, but he definitely did last year. I think he finds his way back on the roster.
