gonzo1105 Posted March 11 Posted March 11 I honestly wonder if they are going to try to trade him. 3.5 is a lot for an OT 4 Quote
DrDawkinstein Posted March 11 Posted March 11 Now the fans have something to "get excited about". 1 Quote
Kirby Jackson Posted March 11 Posted March 11 This feels like a dumb idea too. I’m fine with him back as the swing tackle but this is an overpayment. The Bills bringing back guys like Hamlin, Franklin and Vandy continue their trend of overpaying for depth. That’s how you weaken the top of your roster. You do it by spending a million too much here, $2 million too much there, and $500k too much on that. It’s what Beane believes and I disagree. 3 4 2 3 Quote
ColoradoBills Posted March 11 Posted March 11 Right of First Refusal Tender. Like the tweet says, he must have been getting interest. 1 Quote

BillsFanForever19 Posted March 11 Posted March 11 Why? We have Grable and Lundt, both Draft Picks, and we aren't keeping more than 2 depth OT's. 1 Quote
ngbills Posted March 11 Posted March 11 Hilarious. And we really are still supposed to believe it was all McD influence on the roster? 1 2 9 Quote

I agree the only plausible thing I can think of is they wanted to keep his rights to trade him. If someone will give a 6th for him for him to be their swing tackle then okay I understand that motive. To keep him on the roster I don’t 1 1 Quote

DrDawkinstein Posted March 11 Posted March 11 No one says we HAVE to pay him $3.5M/yr. That's just the tender tag amount. We can always work out a long term deal for less. 2 Quote

I was just thinking out loud, “am I crazy or do other teams have multiple highly compensated guys?” My brain immediately went to the 49ers (I have no idea why). Purdy, McCaffrey, Kittle, Trent Williams, Warner, Bosa and Ayiuk check that box off the top of my head. The Bills don’t have that because they give too much to role players. Dawson Knox is a decent player. He shouldn’t not be a top 5 cap hit. You pay guys like Palmer, Samuel and Bernard. You give your 3rd, or maybe even 4th, OT $3.5M a year. That isn’t a good idea. 1 1 Quote
