This feels like a dumb idea too. I’m fine with him back as the swing tackle but this is an overpayment. The Bills bringing back guys like Hamlin, Franklin and Vandy continue their trend of overpaying for depth. That’s how you weaken the top of your roster. You do it by spending a million too much here, $2 million too much there, and $500k too much on that. It’s what Beane believes and I disagree.

I agree the only plausible thing I can think of is they wanted to keep his rights to trade him. If someone will give a 6th for him for him to be their swing tackle then okay I understand that motive. To keep him on the roster I don’t

No one says we HAVE to pay him $3.5M/yr. That's just the tender tag amount. We can always work out a long term deal for less.
