Wow this is a VERY bad look for the Ravens AND the league. An investigation has to take place. Ravens need to lose a first minimum.  Let's see what happens.

I will say I don't think there is anything the NFL can do. That's why you have this BS tampering period and physicals and all that. There is no real misconduct here. But it is clearly a really bad look for the Ravens and how they do business with other teams. Very kinda bush league of them. And while they were wrapped up in all this they lost half their team.

bad look but they did nothing wrong. They won't be punished.

If they got docked a first, that would be hilarious.

How pissed would the Raiders be

Obviously I'm not talking about optics.

Reputation with other GMs, that most likely won't deal with them again. Duh

Who tf said optics?

Hey, relax guy!! I'm looking at it from a "fan" perspective.

I didn't know you were playing Madden on Coach and Front Office  mode.

In the end, the NFL needs to take draft picks from the Ravens over this. Draft PICKS, as in multiple. Stevie Wonder can see what they did here. They had already been negotiating with Trey Hendrickson's camp, reneged on the Crosby deal to keep their draft picks by claiming the "failed Physical" defense, and signed Hendrickson to the deal they already negotiated 12 hours later. This is as Baltimore as it gets.

No one cares about reputation anymore.  It’s about winning… and that’s all.

No one knows what other teams are thinking, probably not even an issue with them. The belief that this now pins a scarlet letter on the Ravens makes for good banter, but highly doubt they’ll be treated or viewed as some sort of pariah by the rest of the league.

The league can't do anything because a contract was not signed. And all trades are pending a physical.

I still don't know why everyone is angry at the Ravens. Crosby's physical could only happen yesterday. He failed it. They signed Hendrickson because they needed a pass rusher desperately.

this is more of violating an unwritten rule

i don't think the ravens get punished at all

#1- legal tampering agreements are all unofficial. anyone can back out for any reason before today 4pm.

#2- extremely difficult to argue with raven doctors that they didn't see something even the slightest bit concerning MORE than they were led to believe.

having said that, Ravens did Raiders dirty. but saved themselves two 1st rounders

“It’s not the first time that a failed physical on the Ravens’ end has scuttled a move. In 2018, they agreed to a four-year, $29 million deal with free-agent wide receiver Ryan Grant. However, the Ravens failed his physical because of concerns about his ankle, nullifying the deal.

Two years later, they reached a verbal agreement on a three-year, $30 million deal with free-agent defensive tackle Michael Brockers. Yet, members of the team’s medical staff would not sign off on the deal because of concerns about his ankle.“

Well, what fans need to realize is that a deal (any deal where injury recovery is an issue or is it any deal?)  is not a deal until the teams medical staff clears the guy, so there is always an out it seems.

Now this is shady. Feels really awkward for everyone involved.

I assume this also doesn't help Bills.

And yet, so predictable at the same time. ESPECIALLY when Hendrickson announced he would "make a decision on Wednesday" after the Crosby trade fell through. Gotta love it.

But the silver lining - to me personally (can't speak for others) - is that I was extremely undecided on taking a chance on a 31+ y/o DE coming off an injury. Typically, at that age, when you start to get hurt, it doesn't just "stop" and production doesn't just magically revert back to where it was prior to the injuries. The only exception I can really think of is Adrian Peterson, and he was a superfreak.
