May Day 10 Posted March 11 Posted March 11 GMs should really make Baltimore pay for this. Trash move to 'agree' to a trade, go through the window, assess the field, find a better option, then nix the trade. Affecting up the rest of the league, screwing the Raiders over It is an awful precedent and absolute bullcrap 1 1 Quote
Dillenger4 Posted March 11 Posted March 11 I love what they did! 100%. That's business. They got the man they wanted - they wanted either of them. Maxx failed his exam. There are NFL standards and the league HAS to approve the exam. So not sure what everyone is whining about. So now, maxx can be had for much less, if he passes the exam, or if a team accepts the failed grade. Ravens made out like bigtime winners. 1 1 3 Quote

And just be left with edge to deal with. Now we have no edge and multiple remaining holes, which will be filled with 3rd rate options as the top guys are now mostly gone. Again. The ripple effects from this hit every team in the league. Teams might have been willing to buy Walker, Chenal, etc.etc.etc. but waited instead holding out hope for Hendrickson. EVERY team makes decisions based on the facts at hand. Just when they thought they had all the answers, Baltimore changed the questions. That is bush league. 4 Quote

Not sure he can risk it tbh If the Bills regress this year Beane could very well be done anyway. If I'm Beane, I'm at least going down swinging. Future picks won't mean squat to you if you're fired. 1 Quote
CNYfan Posted March 11 Posted March 11 I wonde if the Bills held back on Chenal and/or Ellis thinking they had Hendrickson 2 1 1 Quote

MikePJ76 Posted March 11 Posted March 11 I kind of love this from the perspective of the ravens screwing tom brady but also making themselves look shady. perfect situation for someone who can't stand either of them. 2 1 1 Quote

It is probably legal, but really scummy from a business or human sense. There is going to be a lot of ill-will felt throughout the league and this may do more damage to their reputation than this little game they played is worth. Quote

None of these trades are official until 4 pm today, and by the rules teams can back out for WHATEVER reason they like. And "no reason" also qualifies. There is ZERO chance the Ravens will suffer any ill effects from this. Also, don't assume that other teams have a soft spot for the Raiders' ownership and management team. They don't. 2 Quote
YoloinOhio Posted March 11 Posted March 11 Hahaha. In division too. The bengals are not a real organization. 1 1 Quote
boyst Posted March 11 Posted March 11 The NFL really can't do anything. They have no reason to share the medical evaluation of Crosby. They have no recourse. Ravens get away clean. They're trash bum culture and Ravens fans just alike can continue on. Go to a game in Baltimore. They really like themselves. 1 Quote

Some players lost a few potential dollars, too. Ripple effects galore. 1 Quote

As I posted above, the Ravens have backed out of two prior deals they made within the past decade over physicals. Quote

Dr. Who Posted March 11 Posted March 11 Machiavellian folks who are thinking it was clever and within the rules tacitly or explicitly condone the move. Most recognize that there are unwritten rules that are no less important to ethical behavior, and that once you set a precedent like this, the entire system becomes more vulnerable. Yes, other trades have been nixed by a failed physical, but the cumulative facts and specific context tilt heavily towards shady business here. Probably what will happen is the NFL will get rid of the "tampering window," so the Ravens will benefit and everyone else will suffer the consequences. 2 1 1 Quote
MrEpsYtown Posted March 11 Posted March 11 What a mess! Of course he did. The Ravens, Trey, and his agent all look pretty bad in this craziness. 1 Quote

It's definitely legal because there is no recourse. You can't provide medical evaluations of Crosby due to HIPAA. There is nothing that can be officially done. It's not personal it's business. Hopefully the rest of the league takes the gun and leaves the canoli. Quote

No team even cares what happened. This is such a huge business and boys club, it's not even funny. Do you think Kraft or Pegula cares what some exam result was? No, they don't. Ravens followed procedure. Had every right to fail Maxx's exam, and they did. League still has to sign off on that exam result, which they do. It's not "scummy" or a little game. It's worth multi-millions. It's in fact a BIG game. And they did their job and found a better deal. 1 1 Quote
Sweats Posted March 11 Posted March 11 I'm sick as a dog today, so my mental capacity for retaining any thoughts is nil and void right now, however, i can only imagine the ripple effect that this whole shady ordeal has affected the league in terms of potential business and behind the scenes wheeling and dealing.
