Strange.

I would have gone after Kyler Murray if I were the GM

Imagine being a Vikings fan:  gave up on Darnold after a 14 wins Season (he quickly has a 14 win season with another team that wins SB) so they can go all in on....JJ McCarthy (lol), only to immediately go all out on JJ McCarthy and bring in....Kyler Murray!

It's wild how some of these franchises are being run right now--not just the always incompetent Browns.  Colts, Cards, Jets.  Crazy.

Well, Geno Smith at least is an upgrade over Justin Fields

And as bad as the Jets management decisions are, at least they’re not the Browns, which have had 42 starting quarterbacks since 2000.

Every Browns starting quarterback could play every position on offense and defense, and still have enough for 20 backups!

The contract Miami gave Tua is also on the all-time worst list, not actually that far from the DeShaun Watson contract.

One of my favorite scenes from one of my favorite family movies.  One of the famous blunders is never fight a land war in Asia, but the other is never duel with a Sicilian when death is on the line, haha!  Thud.

It definitely makes sense the Jets need a QB, the Raiders were always going to pick 1st, so GS was expendable.

People laugh at the Jets with their offseason but it’s clear they are bringing in veterans and basically trying to tank

We can justifiably laugh at the Jets but Geno Smith has made a decent career for himself with the associated money. For someone who was the butt of jokes very early in his career, he stuck around and maximized his talent. Given that wa snot much, but not many players can say that.

It still boggles my mind that he was drafted in the same class as our loooonggg gone and forgotten EJ Manuel

Yeah.  I give the guy credit for being in the league this long.  EJ dropped out almost 10 years ago already.

And Geno at least verbally seems very committed to prove himself.  I like that

it's just nice to NOT be rooting for a team on the "QB carousel"

the years between Kelly/Allen were deffo NOT memorable nor were they particularly enjoyable

In fairness EJ left the game of his own volition.

He could have hung around like (for instance) Josh Johnson... 19 seasons, 14 teams, 11 starts... but he didn't.

Lots of guys make the decision to hang around and milk the clipboard.

Others choose to get on with their lives.

They usually manage it without trying so it'll be a breath of fresh air for their fans.

2 free wins. I’ll take it.

I know last year the Bills had a nice blowout win at MetLife, but the Bills usually have a tough time in that stadium even when they win. Lost twice to Zach Wilson in that stadium so I wouldn't call them 2 free wins. The Jets usually treat Bills games like their personal Super Bowl.

Josh Johnson lasted because he had some talent and is smart enough to adapt to lots of team's schemes, even as a backup.

EJ had a nice Senior Bowl game.

Everybody wants to make fun of the Jets and Geno Smith but I feel is best possible outcome for the Jets -- they are only paying him 3.3M  (the Raiders are covering the rest) and they have no commitment to him after this season.    This is close to Kyle Allen money. Contrast this with the 30M GTD they gave Justin Fields last season.
