I’d be fine tossing a late round pick at a guy or a UDFA brought in to compete. I remain of the camp that QB2 does not matter with Allen at this stage in his career and the way our team is built. I am not saying go get the best backup QB money can buy.... but Kyle Allen really sucks. I'd hope they draft a guy day 3 to compete. I would pay Tyrod $6 million a year to give me a better chance at winning a couple games a year if needed. Beane never operates on "what ifs". What if DJ Moore has to miss time? Who becomes our number 1? If Allen God forbid has to miss time, who is the best guy to take over for 2 or 3 games? We still have no good WR outside of Moore and I honestly would have rather have just kept Trubisky than sign Kyle Allen. If you drop Trubisky, you should go for a guy that is better.
