Heard on Sirius NFL, 4 yrs.  52 million and that 32 million is guaranteed.

McGovern must really want go be here because I had him going in the 17-18 million per year range.

The void date not being pushed is kind of wild in hindsight. I wonder if it was and just wasn’t properly reported? You’d think that $5M of cap space would have been handy.

Maybe theyre taking a bit of medicine knowing this isn't an all in type of year. Like Taron not being post June 1st

New D system, all new & young coaches, and needing a ton of turnover with the 3 - 4. Really feel like we need a ton of self scouting to see how our current pieces fit the defense , hence the Oliver restructure... but theres more guys well have to make decisions on after this season.

Playoffs is a must. Division win is absolutely a goal. Barring something crazy like powerhouse teams having down years again, SB doesnt feel realistic. So we make a bunch of necessary move, self scout the roster (especially the young guys from last years draft), get some seasoning on the young coaches, and set yourself up for an all in move a year from now!!

When I ran my mock offseason which included trading for DJ Moore and cutting Knox, I signed Mike Evans with a $9M cap hit. But I also signed Sean Rhyan to play center with a cap hit of $3.5M which obviously isn't needed anymore. McGovern will probably carry around a $7M cap hit so. So we're still on track to add the pieces we need on defense, just probably won't get another legit WR. And that's fine, as long as Beane adds one in the early rounds of the draft.

Imo, one-trick-pony Shaheed should still be in play in FA. That will allow drafting a mid round WR and set up the WR room to be in significantly better shape than the past few years

It is a good deal, less than I thought he'd get on the open market. This does limit what we can do in the rest of FA though. Probably takes Evans and Doubs off the table. But we can still afford a mid to low tier EDGE, OLB, and safety.

Gotta wait to see how it's structured.  I am betting the cap hit this year is super low which shouldn't impact any other signings we are going to try and make.

Wow i was expecting him to get a lot more than 13 million AAV.  I was thinking 16-18

Spotrac was saying $16.3 AAV, so this is a win if he plays his entire contract.

So will it be Anderson or Van Demark at LG, or do they flip O'Cyrus to help out an aging Dawkins?

Good deal & we’ll see!

Evans I assume goes back to TB

Doubs Niners

Shaheed or Deebo Samuel perhaps?

Good news

do we have enough for dobbs, a DT and the chiefs linebacker?

Yeah..... I mean, we'll have to wait and see how the contract is structured, but my guess is that this first year of the contract will be a pretty small cap number and not impact much else of what we are going to want and try to do.  Should know hopefully soon what the cap figure is, but I am guessing it's team friendly this year.

Sure as the salary cap isn’t really real. Will be a lot of competition for doubs though. I think they’re more interested in shaheed cuz of everything he can do.

the likely scenario though is resign cooks cheap and a wr in rd 4

I don't want either of those guys. Treat WR as meaningfully as the board will allow... Cooks can get a full TC with Josh, and compete for a starting role opposite Moore, or a fun guy for sub packages!

My WR hotsheet (cant do all of them, not advocating for it either:

-trade back into early/mid 2nd rd. Grab Chris Bell on a major "discount".. or Omar Cooper if available. we can afford to be patient with Moore here now. Hes a superior talent

-Bryce Lance/Brennan Thompson/Ted Hurst in 2nd or 3rd if we trade outta the 1st rd

We've got options here!

Dawkins/ Vandemark

A. Anderson/ N.Broeker

C. McGovern/ SVG

O. Torrence / C. Lundt

S. Brown/ T. Grable/. T. Clayton

If Edwards & Vandemark are  resigned, everyone is back

Does anyone think SVPG has any trade value?
Seems like there are more teams needing centers than what’s available

I mean, you aren't going to get a lot for him. But yeah, you could probably get a mid-late Day 3 Pick.

let him compete for LG

Problem is nobody seems to think he’s a viable LG at least ppl I’ve heard like Marino talk about it

Yeah, he's pretty much exclusively a Center. Doesn't have the Guard experience or the measurements (specifically arm length) to think that it would be a good transition.
