We drafted two first round corners the last four years. I think the Bills have been taking it seriously.

Im talking about this year no one is talking about besides a few stray let’s take a safety talk. We just cut basically our entire depth or it’s free agents. With Dorian Strongs future in doubt it wouldn’t totally surprise me to see a Corner/Safety who’s versatile. Maybe Hairston starts outside and new CB comes in on Nickle and bumps Hairston inside . Just food for thought

If there is any player with the last name of "Corner", "Nickel", "Nickle" or "Dime", I am down for drafting them!

You mean like former Hall of fame prospect Reggie Corner?

and you need to play Hairston to find out what they have.  The limited time we saw him play, he looked promising.  Don't want to bring in a 3rd guy and now have them competing for snaps and coaching time.  And don't think you'd want to spend a 1st round pick for a nickel CB

But spending a first rounder when you already have an elite corner in Benford and a very promising young corner opposite him in Hairston? I wouldn't do that. There are plenty of guys they can sign in free agency and we've found quality corners later in the draft for depth before.

I understand all this, all I’m saying is it’s worth a discussion because there is really good value at defensive back throughout the draft. I’m with you I wouldn’t personally do it at CB but maybe Safety. The Edge Rushers that fit us are probably in the 3rd/4th round. There are also good inside backers deep in the draft,

I also still think WR is a good option at 26 because of the players on the board but don’t think we’ll do it. Can’t take it completely off the table though.

Obviously FA will paint a big picture but I just chided the Chiefs for their lack of DB depth and honestly after today we are pretty much in the same position

Yes and also Nickell-Robey!

Another good move. This is going  to be a very different defense. Aggressive and attacking . Not sitting back and soft.

JaMarcus Dime was pretty solid at Central Florida Catholic school of the nuns if I remember right.

Ah! The purge!

Indeed!

as I read of the players recently released I think 2 things

1. Being fired is a gut punch to the player themselves I would imagine.  And next the steps to take to fill those shows uppermost on our fan minds.

2.  the NFL is a business. It's all about money. It's all about championships. It's about winning here in WNY.

so while a bittersweet moment for them I can't wait to see what this new regime has cooking.

offseason moves absolutely. I'm buckled up.

sayonara Taron, Dane , Taylor, Curtis. Thank you for your service.

Go Bills

I thought he was a FA?

Yeah, this puzzled me too because I thought he had a 1 yr contract last year

Maybe it has to do with allowing him to start contacting other teams now, instead of waiting for the legal tampering period on Monday?

I'm surprised ... Really ... I didn't think he was still on the roster.

It's too bad that Elam sucked. Hopefully Hairston isn't as injury prone as his rookie season suggested.  with both Benford and Hairston healthy, I'd say we're good with starters. I'd still like to re-sign Tre' for another season and draft someone early on day 3 of the draft.

I don't see Leonhard using a lot of Nickel packages. Unless he's starting, maybe Hancock could handle that role. Or bring back Lewis to do it.

We need at least two more boundary CB's to backup Benford and Hairston, I wouldn't use our 1st rd pick on one though.
