Maybe a little sigh of relief from his teammates, as well.   :)

I kid (mostly), he seemed to have learned to keep his head up better so he could more reliably focus on hitting the other guys.

Good luck to him, he should have a healthy bank account regardless of what is next.

In a corresponding move, the Bills released the contracts of 50% of their medical staff.

Bills DBs can rest easy knowing they won’t be the target of a Rapp heat seeking missile.

I am waiting on the Knox announcement. That’s the one most interesting to me at this point.

I just finished texting that to my son.

McDermott to Pegula/Beane: “We really need to revamp this roster”

Pegula/Beane after McDermott is gone: “Ya know, we really need to revamp this roster”

i love it. I will say I don’t think Rapp or Johnson would have been released if McDermott was still here. JMO

I don't think rap or Johnson would have been coming back anyways with McDermott either

Long in the tooth, the writing was on the wall but you just can't get rid of your starting slots corner in the middle of the season

I'm pretty sure this was written in stone a long time ago

Health reasons and declining pay is the end of every NFL player.. I saw this in December

I'm hoping they can restructure and keep Knox.

He is an above average tight end, and Kincaid has problems staying on the field.

Huh I thought that they'd at least wait until camp to see what they have

Leonhard knew what he had.  Another guy who he did not want as part of his defense.

Bye bye Rapp T Johnson and Samuel.  Hello DJ Walker.  It’s been a good 24+ hours at One Bills Drive.

Let’s keep it going.

Yeah, that is kind of how it goes sometimes. You fire the coach and move in a new direction, then give the next coach everything you can to be successful, something you probably should have done for the one you fired.

What didn’t they do for McDermott that McDermott wanted?

@Simon and I were discussing it in another thread. If he comes back you’re probably still looking at like a $10M cap hit. It becomes a matter of, “is that $10M better used on Knox or Evans or McGovern or whomever?” I like Knox and think he’s a great fit. I just think that money can be better used elsewhere.

Where did you get that from? Pegula essentially confirmed it during the press conference.

It was actually the opposite

11 teams in the NFL pay their kicker 5 million plus. Yeah, that is on the more expensive side, but it isn't like the Bills are alone. If you cut him, you only save half his salary anyway, so if you go sign another kicker you are essentially paying the same amount. Might as well keep him and see how he is doing in camp with whatever competition you bring in, and then cut him if he isn't the clear winner. Then you save more againdt the cap because that would be post June 1st.

Cutting him and drafting a kicker saves over 2 million net.  2 million could be a nice vet option like Tre White.
