Sierra Foothills Posted March 6 Posted March 6 I wonder if this is their way of letting him test the market and possibly re-signing him if the numbers work for both sides. 7 Quote
JMM Posted March 6 Posted March 6 Interesting and a bit surprising, since it sounded like they had plans for him in the new D. So I'm thinking they wanted him to take a pay cut and he said no thanks? 2 Quote
Royale with Cheese Posted March 6 Posted March 6 What's the cap savings? I love Taron, one of my favorite Bills players in the McDermott era. But he really slowed down last year. It was very noticeable to me. 7 11 Quote
Stads Posted March 6 Posted March 6 I'm totally fine with this. Had some great times but lost a step or two or three. Maybe he comes back on the cheap at safety or something. Best of luck to him Quote
wppete Posted March 6 Posted March 6 This is the right move. It’s too bad we couldn’t trade him but his contract is not tradable especially how he has played the last couple of years. Good luck to him. 1 2 Quote

Can't continue to pay him that kind of money when he misses time and his play has dropped off. 3 Quote
gonzo1105 Posted March 6 Posted March 6 I’m not surprised at all. His play dropped off a cliff the last couple years. Thought maybe they’d suck one more year out of him with a paycut Rodgers hyping him up on national television should have been a hint. They have either Cam Lewis, or Jordan Hancock to work that spot when needed. Or they can draft a safety to play it due to it being a deep secondary draft Quote

Roundybout Posted March 6 Posted March 6 Great Bill and will always remember the legendary 101-yard pick-6 against Baltimore. But he’s really lost a step the last season. 4 4 1 Quote

Miyagi-Do Karate Posted March 6 Posted March 6 I would argue that Taron was the most critical part of the McD defense. When he started getting injured and slowing, the D fell apart. 3 3 Quote
Back2Buff Posted March 6 Posted March 6 A contract that should have never been restructured. We could have got some real cap savings, instead its none. 2 2 Quote

Love the guy, but he plays physical for his size and he's going to be on the wrong side of 30 this season. Injuries are going to increase and he's already lost a step. Best of luck to Taron. Bill for life. 1 Quote
