ColoradoBills Posted March 4 Posted March 4 No. I can see them signing him to minimum contract after the start of FA. The odds someone else signs him for more is very low. I hope he comes to camp to compete. Quote
gonzo1105 Posted March 4 Posted March 4 The have until the 11th to tender him. RVD was undrafted so if they put the lowest number on him they will get nothing in compensation. I get the feeling he won’t take the sweetheart deal like Anderson would because he might be OT 4 and probably wants a larger opportunity. We could lose him this offseason but who knows. Wouldn’t surprise me if we don’t tender him Quote

So it could just be a minimum vet or a Day 3 Pick. Bc we're really talking about OT4 here. 2 Quote
RichRiderBills Posted March 5 Posted March 5 Yeah but Grable had done nothing in games to deserve that. RVD is solid depth and can start. I'd resign him and offer a tender. 1 Quote

You can sign him outright. Let him go as an UFA if you don't tender him. If you tender him and another team give an offer, original team can match or let him walk. Sometimes for a draft pick. That's the "restriction" part. Anderson signed for less than a tender. I was a little shocked. That's what makes me think they won't with VDM. Quote

The lowest tender this year is roughly 3.5 million dollars this year. Thats a pretty penny for a guy who might be your OT4. I'm sure they've approached him about signing for less but what motive would Van De Mark have for that? He at worst probably wants to be assured a swing tackle role which he's not assured of here. 2 Quote
