DrDawkinstein Posted March 4 Posted March 4 WOW Wonder if KC is looking to move up for Love? Or just wants/needs all those picks to re-tool? Quote

HappyDays Posted March 4 Author Posted March 4 As I've said a few times, ownership is one area where we have an advantage over KC. They are not willing to write blank checks the way Pegula does which is why they're trading superstars every couple years. CB was already a need for them with Jaylen Watson likely leaving in FA. This tells me they are planning to use this year as a reset, they just don't have enough talent to be seriously competitive IMO, especially with Mahomes recovering. 7 Quote
HappyDays Posted March 4 Author Posted March 4 Mansoor Delane or Jermod McCoy at #9? I think you can scratch off Jeremiah Love for the Chiefs. They have too many needs to take a RB that high. 1 Quote
gonzo1105 Posted March 4 Posted March 4 The Chiefs just don’t pay defensive backs. Jaylen Watson is about to bounce to , same with Cook at Safety. Obviously one of these 1st rounders will be used on a Cornerback and Nohl Williams will probably be the other guy Quote
Roundybout Posted March 4 Posted March 4 Man. They really don’t have much in the defensive backfield anymore. Quote
Brand J Posted March 4 Posted March 4 Always felt McDuffie was a bit overrated, but I’m glad to see him gone from the Chiefs. Father Time is also knocking on Kelce and Chris Jones’s door, so many of their stars will be off the team in the foreseeable future. Let’s hope they don’t hit on those draft picks. 2 Quote

I'd take playing for the Chiefs, Ravens, Cowboys, Buccaneers over being stuck on the Jets/Titans/Browns/Cardinals. 2 Quote
Logic Posted March 4 Posted March 4 That is a WILD amount of trade compensation for a corner. I understand that he's a very good corner, but....sheesh. Rams must have really felt that they were one piece away. 3 4 1 Quote

They traded Peters, let Charvarius Ward walk, traded La'jarius Sneed, now McDuffie. Hitting on Nohl Williams in last year's draft made McDuffie expendable. McDuffie is great in the slot, but has struggled outside, most notably in Chiefs-Cowboys game on Thanksgiving. Edited March 4 by beebe 1 Quote

Don't get me wrong McDuffie is a good player, but he's been worked by bigger WRs and might be better off in the slot. That 2027 3rd could wind up being a very valuable pick. It's funny that some people balk at a 1st for a player like AJ Brown, meanwhile a slightly lesser player in McDuffie gets even more than that. Teams aren't going to just give away their best players. 2 Quote
MrEpsYtown Posted March 4 Posted March 4 So this makes me wonder, who else from that 2022 first round isn't going to be extended? Kayvon Thibodeaux has come up already. Chris Olave? Drake London? Jameson Williams? It's crazy how many guys from that first round are already on their second teams. Quote
Process Posted March 4 Posted March 4 Last year wasn't a fluke. The Chiefs have a serious lack of talent. And they just traded one of their best players. Kelce and Jones nearing retirement. Mahomes regression/injury. It may be a few years at least before they are back as serious contenders. 2 Quote

Olave especially, since New Orleans seems to have a decent quarterback in Shough. Jameson Williams is up in the air for me. Quote
