The one thing I'll say on Joe's behalf is that he actually tried to be realistic about the cap and made the money work. The peak cap space they get in this scenario is $32.84 million and they end up with $1.79 million after extending Torrence. A LOT of teams have more cap space than the Bills, so even though the latter can create a decent amount of space, their situation has to be placed in a larger context: https://overthecap.com/salary-cap-space. They will be competing against these other teams for the good players.

I actually think he did a nice job on the cap. I didn’t like the players he chose especially in the draft. He definitely was realistic just didn’t like he guys.

Not drafting a WR is crazy.  This is a deep WR draft

Totally agree, in 20+ years we have used our 1st Rd pick on a WR exactly 1 time... it shows...  and that pick was a trade up for Watkins ... horrible trade... I have zero confidence that Beane drafts a WR he has never used his 1st rd pick (1-32) on a WR... ... this will be a defensive pick IMO...

I mean, we traded our 1st for Diggs so that counts for something. IMO even better than drafting since you get a known commodity instead of just a lottery ticket. The contract $ is the flip-side, but I dont worry about Terry's money.

Watkins was an incredible talent. Like elite

We didn't have the QB in place

I mean this is fair he did do that... so I would have to agree that counts for something...  the money like you said is Terry's and he has a lot of it..  I think I am more looking at the draft, develop and retain philosophy...  especially in a passing league that it has been the past 10 years you would think the focus would have changed to value WRs...  I suppose we would have all felt better if those picks he used on Defense turned into a game wrecker or two... the lack of hits on 1 picks makes this a more concerning view... like you havent taken x in lieu of y? Where is the value in Y then?

I hear you to an extent, but DJ Moore is not mediocre. He has had a number of extremely good and productive seasons that went under the radar because of the teams he was on: https://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/M/MoorD.00.htm.

Moore yards have gone from 1300, to 900 to 600 the last 3 years and he played in all 17 games.  That’s not a good trend.

He was... and he wasnt a bust by any means... he just never dominated... went on to a respectable career outside of here ...  I also think he may have admitted to having some recreational substance issues while he was here.... and questioned his own focus...  so, he could have been dominant... but based on what we got for 3 years i hated the trade... hindsight... loved the trade when it happened.

I remember a deep route vs Miami in 2014, his rookie year.

Watkins looked borderline generational. I was like wow. He made ej Manuel and ortom look respectable

Injuries and drinking really hurt him

I want nothing to do with DJ Moore's contract.  I like Moore OK, but he doesn't move the needle for me and I hate his contract.  I need to do better there.

I do agree with a lot of what he has there.

pay cuts:

Dawson Knox and Taron Johnson  **AGREE COMPLETELY**

restructures before FA:

Allen, Rousseau, Oliver, Hoecht  **AGREE COMPLETELY (Depending on the options out there available for trade, I'd also be open to Dawkins if needed)**

Cuts:

Curtis Samuel and Taylor Rapp  **AGREE COMPLETELY**

Internal free agents to sign:

he provides the full list, but the only player he has the Bills re-signing is Trubisky  **AGREE**

External offseason additions, pre-draft:

trade a 3rd (91st pick) and a 6th for DJ Moore  **ABSOLUTELY NOT (Hate his contract.  Feel like we need to do better than Moore)**

Sign LB Leo Chenal  **LOVE THIS**

Sign LG Dalton Risner  **NOT HAPPENING**

Sign S Reed Blankenship  **FINE (There are some other options I like better, but this would be a fine option)**

Sign NT Khyiris Tonga  **LOVE THIS**

Sign CB Chidobe Awuzie  **FINE**

Draft:  MY PLAN IS A LOT DIFFERENT THAN HIS.

1st - Cashius Howell, Edge/OLB, Texas A&M

2nd - D'Angelo Ponds, Nickel, Indiana

4th - Keyshaun Elliott, ILB, Arizona State

5th - Pat Coogan, IOL, Indiana

7th - Andre Fuller, DB, Toledo

7th - Brett Thorson, P, Georgia

Post-draft signings:  **MEH.....WHATEVER**

DL Levi Onwuzurike

S PJ Locke

WR Kalif Raymond

Mid-August contract extension: **ONLY IF HE SHOWS SOME REAL OFF SEASON IMPROVEMENT.  I JUST WANT MORE OUT OF HIM.**

O'Cyrus Torrence

Me, I have to find the best WR available via trade (Our 2nd and another pick should get something of quality.  Depending on who it is, I would consider our 1st. but it depends on who it is).  I hope that isn't Moore because I am not doing that.  Then, I am signing Doubs or Shaheed and drafting a WR in the first 2 rounds depending on who's there.  I am getting Chenal and Tonga and perhaps 1 other LB along with one of the great S options available.  We will need a vet CB as well.

But man.... a lot of my off season depends on what trades are out there to be made.  Unfortunately, as fans, we don't have that info unless someone actually does get traded.  That's why it is so hard to project a complete off season because are some star WRs available?  What's the price?  Same for star defensive players.  Is there a great pass rusher available?  We don't really know.  Who and what is available at what price greatly affects what my draft would look like.  Regardless.....we'll know more in the next week.

That coupled with not drafting a WR.

I'm convinced he did that on purpose to rile fans and drive clicks since it is that slow part of the offseason where everyone publishes their hottest of hot takes for attention.

Well he will have Josh as his QB now. Look at what it did for Samuel, Moore and Palmer. Err wait.

Joe B's offseason plan: https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/7075936/2026/03/02/buffalo-bills-mock-offseason/.

How the heck are the comp picks not announced yet????!?

I agree with a lot of his pre-draft moves......

Aside from that I hate his mock overall:

-Howell isnt my fav option, but maybe the arm thing applies less here since (Im assuming) he would play OLB.  No way he's picked to play the 4i - defensive end spot right?  Too small and t rex arms seems like a turrible fit.

-I do like Ponds very much!

- Elliot? I dont know anything about him, but I like other guys at LB position and range... there are a lot of WR's I like in this range too. IDK

I like it.  Except I’d like to see a WR and S drafted in top 100.  I’d trade back, and get back that 3rd.  WR-S-Edge-LB first 4 rounds, in BPA order

3 FA I would target are Chenal,DT Myers-Franklin, S Dane Belton.  Edge and WR are priorities

I think I read today that Dalton Risner is re-signing with the Bengals.

Even before this, Alec Anderson and Nick Broeker had a better chance at starting at guard for the Bills than Risner. Guard-wise, the Bills are going to promote from within.

Nor would I make announcements about the future of my wife's career.

The caveat of course is if an individual puts their spouse up to doing so.
