dave mcbride Posted March 2 Posted March 2 (edited) Joe B's offseason plan: https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/7075936/2026/03/02/buffalo-bills-mock-offseason/. Highlights (minus the salary cap machinations, which all seem reasonable, to get here): pay cuts: Dawson Knox and Taron Johnson restructures before FA: Allen, Rousseau, Oliver, Hoecht Cuts: Curtis Samuel and Taylor Rapp Internal free agents to sign: he provides the full list, but the only player he has the Bills re-signing is Trubisky External offseason additions, pre-draft: trade a 3rd (91st pick) and a 6th for DJ Moore Sign LB Leo Chenal Sign LG Dalton Risner Sign S Reed Blankenship Sign NT Khyiris Tonga Sign CB Chidobe Awuzie Draft: 1st - Cashius Howell, Edge/OLB, Texas A&M 2nd - D'Angelo Ponds, Nickel, Indiana 4th - Keyshaun Elliott, ILB, Arizona State 5th - Pat Coogan, IOL, Indiana 7th - Andre Fuller, DB, Toledo 7th - Brett Thorson, P, Georgia Post-draft signings: DL Levi Onwuzurike S PJ Locke WR Kalif Raymond Mid-August contract extension: O'Cyrus Torrence Edited March 2 by dave mcbride 3 2 4 11 Quote
DrDawkinstein Posted March 2 Posted March 2 (edited) Having DJ Moore as the only WR brought in is certainly... an idea. Maybe Joe is just hoping for more fodder for his friends on the WGR morning show? All in all, I like most of it. That list of external FA signings would be ridiculous if Beane pulled it off. I'm less thrilled on that draft tho. IMO, we need to add a vet WR via trade/FA, AND draft a WR in the 1st. Then go defense the rest of the way with whatever Leonhard needs. If Beane can hit on 1 WR and 2-3 Defenders (1 at each level of Defense), then we cake walk to the SB. Edited March 2 by DrDawkinstein 6 3 1 Quote

Kelly to Allen Posted March 2 Posted March 2 (edited) To only bring in dj Moore and not draft a single wr is completely ridiculous. Draft a frickin vertical wr for the love of God I'm not as crazy like wgr but at absolute minimum a high end wr needs to be brought in, and a day 1 or 2 pick at wr Id rather just sign Doubs then give up picks for moore Signing Doubs or Shaheed and then drafting Thompson for example rd 3 is a solid plan. I want Allen to have great weapons Edited March 2 by Kelly to Allen 6 7 2 Quote

The most egregious I've ever seen was back when Rachel Bush was unhappy with Poyer's contract, but was going so far as to publicly trash the Bills on Micah Hyde's contract. Imagine our wives injecting themselves into one of our friend/coworker's salary negotiations 2 Quote

Yes, if you mean two real starters, not WR4s like Palmer and Samuels. Does Beane have poor judgement, bad luck, or bad advice? Whatever it is, he needs to get it right this offseason. He's had too many subpar years. 1 1 Quote
gonzo1105 Posted March 2 Posted March 2 No thanks on Blankenship for sure. No thanks on Howell he has ultra Trex arms as well . Chenal and Elliott I’m good with inside. Love Ponds as a future Nickle, like Coogan as well. Mixed bad for me on his offseason 1 Quote

Kincaid has been a major disappointment along with Coleman. Doesn’t matter the amount of resources you use if none of those picks are landing. 1 Quote
