JohnnyCash Posted February 25 Posted February 25 (edited) If this was discussed previously, I will delete. I don’t listen all the time, but today I was wondering why Jim Miller was not on MTC(Movin’ the Chains) being a big week onsite at the combine. Did a little googling and found out he is no longer the co-host on MTC, and is off the channel completely. No reason given. He will be missed on what was arguably some of the best NFL talk…radio or TV. 😞 [edited] https://awfulannouncing.com/sxm/jim-miller-out-nfl-radio-movin-chains.html Edited February 25 by JohnnyCash 1 1 3 3 Quote
Chandler#81 Posted February 25 Posted February 25 WOW! Didn’t see that coming. Does anyone have insight into why? He and Pat Kirwin are GOTO listens for me! 2 4 Quote
gonzo1105 Posted February 25 Posted February 25 Boy I would have lost big on the over under mentions of Jim Miller today on this board. 1 5 Quote
AKC Posted February 25 Posted February 25 Kirwan’s onair goodbye sounds like possibly a health issue and there’s not going to be a public statement about it. 1 2 Quote
RyanC883 Posted February 25 Posted February 25 VERY cryptic statement from Kirwan. Makes it sound mental health or substance abuse related. Here is what Kirwan said, “For the sake of Jim, we should leave this subject as it is and hope and pray that he gets on with his life and things go well.” Well, I hope Jim is doing well, although this is just odd. 1 3 Quote
Richard Noggin Posted February 25 Posted February 25 How many of you listen to league-wide podcasts like the one impacted herein? **I do not often seek out league-wide content (beyond late-night white noise ESPN/NFL Network slop) in this post-broadcast NFL world...but maybe I'm missing meaningful content? I've heard of Kirwan and Miller, obviously, but 100% never listened to their show unless it was quoted by others. Quote

When you are sick of hearing the same songs on the same playlists, you bounce over to the sports talk shows to see what's fresh and what people are talking about. 4 2 1 1 Quote

I do not have XM, nor do I have a commute these days (remote work since pandemic). But that makes a TON of sense for how many would encounter such programming. Was it a morning or afternoon show? I used to listen religiously when I worked from home. Now, it’s just during the commute. 5 1 1 Quote

Charles Romes Posted February 25 Posted February 25 Miller and Kirwan effortlessly made their show sound vitally important - even in the deepest dog days of the offseason. 5 2 Quote
eball Posted February 25 Posted February 25 (edited) Ok, I’ll get flak for this, but I could never stand Miller. Horrible voice, mush-mouth, and his command of the English language and vocabulary are extremely limited. Kirwan carries that show. I’ll give it a shot every now and then and would always have to turn it off after 10 minutes because Miller grated on me. They also give idiot fan callers way too much time to ramble. The best of that show is their camp visits. That said — I wish the man no ill will and hope he is ok for his and his family’s sake. Edit: just read the article about him leaving and Kirwan's cryptic “gets on with his life” statement. Very odd. Edited February 25 by eball 4 1 Quote

January, it’s 3-7pm daily, and on Saturdays during the season it’s 2-5pm. He will be missed. He replaced, Tim for the first 10 years. I listen as often as I can as it’s the best radio show on the NFL. Not hot take artist stuff. I hope he’s ok. Quote

Satellite radio is a must have in my world. I have had it since it came out in 2001 and have been using the same portable radio for 20 years. 1 Quote

I couldn't take remote work anymore, I now have a new job in an office and renewed XM subscription Edited February 25 by uticaclub Quote
