Beane has been on record multiple times saying how much he regrets letting Teller get away. 

 

For clarity, this is not something I think Beane should do, nor do I think he can afford to

I’ll take that bet.  In almost every interview where he talks about his early years as the GM, he talks about wishing he spent more time evaluating Teller and how Teller’s prolific success haunts him.

Theoretically - he could. But the cost of Teller will be *so* much and I don't see Guard being the "big fish" ticket item position we go for. And it shouldn't be. 

 

The projected cost for David Edwards is more than I'd want to pay. I don't want to even think about what Wyatt Teller would cost.

Sorry, but I did know who it was just from the title. It's one thing Beane is always ready to admit fault with. I promise you, he will be on Beane's radar. But there will be a lot of competition for him IMO.
