Stadium construction halted due to graffiti found on site.

This could probably be merged into the stadium construction thread, but also thought it's big enough news that deserves it's own thread.  Reading the article it kind of sounds like they suspect this was an inside job by some of the workers??  No idea on how long construction is stopped for, but sounds like it could be significant as they are now unsure if they will be able to have some pre-events in July and could even impact the Bills pre-season the article states.

We suspended work and launched a full investigation in partnership with the trade contractors and unions to send a clear message about how seriously we take this matter,” Gilbane Turner said in a statement.

“Gilbane Turner maintains zero tolerance for graffiti, vandalism, or defacement of property on our projects. Such actions damage property, violate the law, and undermine the respectful, professional environment we are committed to maintaining.

There's always graffiti going on at construction sites..........in fact, someone's been drawing pictures of wieners all over construction sites over here for years.

There’s some internet theories that they’re behind on construction and this is a little “look at the birdie.” WGR said this morning that they’re 87% complete and scheduled to be done this summer. I also talked with a trade contractor a few months back working on the project and he said it was the biggest cluster that he’s ever been a part of. His exact words were that they’d have it done by opening day but the project won’t be completely done for a couple of years. I don’t know what to believe. @SoCal Deek can you help us makes heads or tails of this development?

I....can't imagine what the graffiti must say that everyone stops what they're doing on a multi billion dollar project.  God help them if they ever saw construction sites in the City

My thoughts as well, was the graffiti over 50% of the stadium? You halt hundreds if not thousands of workers? You can’t investigate while they are still working?

Unless the County demands the work be stopped I'd remind the contractors that the timeline does not slip because somebody saw a mean word painted on a wall somewhere

Graffiti is the worst. I’m glad somebody is doing something about it. They just leave it up everywhere else and try to convince themselves that chicken scratch is art.

you're right, they should come to a complete halt on construction until whomever did the graffiti feels so bad that they make a public apology

Graffiti may have improved it.

 

I don’t really understand how anyone is impressed with the new stadium when comparing it to other new stadiums.

 

When comparing it to the 50 year old stadium it’s impressive, but should that really be the comparison?
