Tough question. I've always thought yes, his name should be up there.  The best running back in team history, and his unproven bad deeds occurred 20 years after he left Buffalo. What if he'd been convicted of robbing a bank 20 years later?  Take his name down?  What if he'd been convicted arson to collect insurance money?  I mean, there just isn't any good, logical argument to be made saying these facts support removing him.

Personally, I can't erase his days as a Bill from my memory, so why should the Bills erase him?  Are they going to erase his rushing records from the Bills all-time records?

However, having said all of that, I will not be upset - not at all - if his name is gone when the new stadium opens. It's the perfect time to make the change, and the whole episode of the murders, his trial, and his life afterward is best left to fade as time goes by.

If it were my decision, his name would quietly disappear from the home of the Bills.

I hate OJ.  He was the best player the Bills had until Josh Allen, but it feels so wrong to celebrate his greatness.

Completely random offseason thought- they are transferring the wall of fame to the new stadium, correct? Do they put OJ up on it?

It has been reported that they are not

No.

I feel like not ripping his name off the wall was tribute enough. There is absolutely zero reason to start a new stadium with a black eye. This is, of course if they even HAVE a wall or likewise tribute area.

He's since passed away. He won't even know he's not up there.

If the Bills judge him for his football accomplishments only, then his name goes up on the new stadium. He is/was one of the greatest RBs in NFL history and one of the greatest Bills players all-time. If they judge him by what he did after his career, then his name shouldn't go up. What he did is unforgivable but it's not my call to make if OJ's name is on the new stadium or not. Just have to wait and see what the Bills do.

Aren't they doing a less prominent wall of fame thing? The ring of honor was extremely visible, even on broadcasts of the games. If there is a wall of fame tucked away in some museum part of the stadium it might not really matter if he's on there or not.

Of course not.  Not even a question.

From what I understand, the Wall of Fame will not make the move to the new stadium... though there will likely be some sort of "ring of honor" kind of thing, that a number of teams have

Most stadiums I've been to have the names prominently displayed around the stadium.

When you do what he did - you get erased, not celebrated.  My father was murdered when I was 18 years old and the day before my brother turned 7 years old - I know the toll and damage it does to the loved ones of the victims.  This isn't some sweep under the rug event, or he made a mistake and hope he learned from it.

I golfed with one of his defense lawyers because he is really good friends with a close friend of mine, so I got invited out with them for golf.  It came up while we were golfing because my buddy told him I was a huge Bills fan.  While he won't address direct questions on whether he did it or not...what he did say was that to this day the crime scene photos were the most gruesome thing he has ever seen in his career.  He also said that he has never seen a case with so much over whelming hard evidence against a defendant, not one case.  When I asked him if he did it - he just looked at me with obvious acknowledgement without saying a word.

He did it, and it was heinous.  Then you have all the other fun stuff, like abusing his wife for years physically and mentally, the later gun point robbery, the book that was essentially a confession, etc.

There is a grave difference between robbing a bank or any other legal issues and the horrific and grusome murder of those 2 people.  There are lines you cross to where things get so bad that you don't deserve to be honored.

Fans want to remember him, their minds are a free space to do that.  But being put up in the stadium is not rememberance, it is an honor, and he lost the right to be honored when he did something so heinous and unforgivable.  Not to mention, the over whelming majority will not want to see his name on the wall.

Circumstances matter.
