SoonerBillsFan Posted February 17 Posted February 17 I dont see us using it. It will be interesting to see who doesn't make it onto the FA market. Quote
Ethan in Cleveland Posted February 17 Posted February 17 Word out of Seattle is they will not use it on Walker. https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/47953513/sources-seahawks-unlikely-use-franchise-tag-kenneth-walker 1 1 1 Quote

Least of all on a committee backfield like Seattle has tried to have. Now the Jets ARE thought to be using it on Breece Hall...but Jets are gonna Jet. https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/7051352/2026/02/17/breece-hall-new-york-jets-free-agency-franchise-tag/ 1 Quote

mannc Posted February 17 Posted February 17 Pickens is the obvious choice but Dallas can’t afford to have him play under the franchise tender amount this year ($28 million). 1 1 Quote
TBBills Fan Posted February 17 Posted February 17 All aboard the tag Rapp train And by tag, I mean tag him with a punch in the mouth so he doesn't hurt anyone on his way out the door. 6 Quote
BillsShredder83 Posted February 17 Posted February 17 Is the argument for not using it on a RB, really any different than the 'dont pay RB's argument'. Asking more generally here than I am specifically to Walker. It seems like a best of both worlds in certain scenarios to use on a RB... not the end of the world paying the franchise tag price, for a single year, knowing a 5th year guy is still in his prime, but able to ditch before giving a 6th year guy a 3yr deal.... IMO, theres absolutely RBs that'd be IDEAL use of franchise. Then you could even hit it again and trade the guy 1 Quote

Breece Hall is the only relevant player on that offense. He quietly rushed for over 1000 yards last season with another 350 through the air. He’s a very talented player. Prior to injury he would’ve been up there with James Cook. 1 Quote
Jauronimo Posted February 17 Posted February 17 Beane will probably use it on Jordan Phillips 1 5 Quote
Andrew Son Posted February 17 Posted February 17 The best part of Beane's poor drafting and FA aquisitions is that we don't have to worry about such difficult decisions! 2 4 1 Quote

And the Jets have massive amounts of cap space. They would be stupid not to either franchise Hall or just extend him. 1 1 Quote
