Yeah, I wouldn't use it on a RB. Least of all on a committee backfield like Seattle has tried to have.

Now the Jets ARE thought to be using it on Breece Hall...but Jets are gonna Jet.

Pickens is the obvious choice but Dallas can’t afford to have him play under the franchise tender amount this year ($28 million).

Is the argument for not using it on a RB, really any different than the 'dont pay RB's argument'.

Asking more generally here than I am specifically to Walker.  It seems like a best of both worlds in certain scenarios to use on a RB... not the end of the world paying the franchise tag price, for a single year, knowing a 5th year guy is still in his prime, but able to ditch before giving a 6th year guy a 3yr deal....

IMO, theres absolutely RBs that'd be IDEAL use of franchise. Then you could even hit it again and trade the guy

Good on them. Breece Hall is the only relevant player on that offense. He quietly rushed for over 1000 yards last season with another 350 through the air. He’s a very talented player. Prior to injury he would’ve been up there with James Cook.

And the Jets have massive amounts of cap space.  They would be stupid not to either franchise Hall or just extend him.

There's already rumors that's the plan in NJ

I hate it for Hall but like it as prevent the Chiefs from likely signing him.

sign and trade to Bills😎

Pickens is a guy I would love to have in a contract year, but a fully-paid Pickens, under a multi-year deal, would scare me.
