Super Bowl Half Time Shows

This lull in the season stinks.  Sitting here listing to music. I thought where I was blown away by the Half time show.  Unsuspectingly, I did not know who he was was but Bruno Mars may be the best I can remember.  I am not even a fan but he was electric.  Share you favorite half time shows.

I’m a working musician so I feel compelled to comment. Bruno Mars was absolutely incredible and is absolutely incredible. Super talented kid. Michael Jackson was great back in the day. Loved Dre as well.

I was at the Pats/Eagles Super Bowl - that one was McCartney.  He was amazing, and it was very cool to see a Beatle live.

Katy Perry with the sharks was so bad, that it was so good.

I quite liked the personal jet pack demonstrated during the halftime of SB I or II.

No. Whatever the question is, my answer is no. SB halftime shows are such commercial calculations that none of them should really matter to anyone with a human soul. Or at least they should all upset us equally, being such commercial/consumerist displays.

 

That being said, I thought this year's show had an immaculate vibe, some social importance, and an overall restorative and somewhat meaningful message. But none of that really matters much in the grand scheme of anything.

Agreed Bruno Mars was my favorite I can remember in the last 15 years. He’s very talented. Even his Michael Jackson impersonation was spot on, Would love to have a show like that again. Something that brings back childlike memories of great music and feels like pride in America freedom. It brings everyone together with joy. Hope they go back to that

Halftime shows are meant for a bathroom break, nice conversation, and a refill of my beer.  I was sucked in for a hot minute, but the arrogance of this guy only singing in Spanish and brazenly stating fans need to learn his language.

I know I’m old and what not but if what went on this year is now considered “good music”….holy hell.  
 

Plus…the show was completely designed for TV.  Imagine being in the stadium, paying 10k per ticket, and just looking at people dressed as plants for half an hour while someone mumbles in a whiny voice.

….in a foreign language. Once again, the Shield is more interested in the customers they don’t have than those they do have. It’s a fairly consistent pattern.
